As a Senior CSM, you'll be the key relationship manager for a book of business holding new and existing complex hosting and colocation customers. Ultimately responsible for customer satisfaction and retention, you'll achieve this through a variety of touchpoints and activities. Tips for Your Customer Success Operations Job Search
Quantify retention and renewal metrics on your resume
Hiring managers for customer success operations roles want to see churn reduction rates, renewal percentages, and time-to-onboard figures you directly influenced. Pull those numbers from your CRM or CS platform and put them front and center under each role.
List your CS tech stack by tool name
Gainsight, Totango, ChurnZero, Salesforce, and Zendesk appear constantly in job requirements. Name every platform you've administered or configured, not just 'CRM experience,' so your resume clears applicant tracking systems that filter on tool-specific keywords.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists customer success operations openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Target companies by CS team size and maturity
A 10-person CS team building its operations function from scratch needs a generalist who can set up playbooks and tooling. A 100-person team wants a specialist. Read job descriptions carefully to know which type you're applying for and tailor your pitch to match.
Prepare a process improvement story for interviews
Interviewers almost always ask you to walk through a workflow you built or fixed. Have one concrete example ready: what was broken, what you changed, and what the measurable outcome was. Vague answers about 'improving processes' don't land in this field.
Negotiate title carefully in offers for this role
Customer success operations titles vary widely across companies and affect your next job search. If the offer says 'CS Analyst' but the scope matches a manager role, ask directly about title alignment before you accept, and document what you'll own in writing.
Customer Success Operations Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most customer success operations professionals?
The companies hiring the most customer success operations professionals right now include Spectrum, Intuit, and Amazon, with the largest share of openings in California, Texas, and New York, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. SaaS and enterprise software companies consistently drive the highest volume of postings in this role.
How many customer success operations jobs are remote?
About 82% of customer success operations openings are fully remote or hybrid as of September 2026, making it one of the more flexible operations roles in tech. Sub-areas focused on data analysis, CS tooling administration, and renewal forecasting tend to see the highest concentration of remote-eligible postings.
How do you become a customer success operations professional?
Start by building experience in a customer-facing role such as customer success manager, support, or account management, then move toward the operational side by owning a process, tool, or reporting function. Learn at least one CS platform like Gainsight or Totango, get comfortable with CRM data in Salesforce, and develop a portfolio of workflows or dashboards you've built or improved.
Can I get hired in customer success operations with little experience?
Yes, entry-level customer success operations roles exist, especially at companies building out their CS function for the first time. Employers will look for transferable skills like CRM data work, process documentation, or customer-facing experience over formal operations titles. Completing a free Gainsight or Salesforce Trailhead certification and contributing to a real or practice CS workflow helps close the gap considerably.
What does the customer success operations interview process look like?
Most customer success operations interview processes include a recruiter screen, a hiring manager conversation focused on your operational background, and at least one technical or take-home exercise where you analyze a dataset or design a customer health scoring model. Final rounds typically involve cross-functional stakeholders from sales, product, or finance who want to understand how you collaborate outside the CS team.
Where can I find and apply to customer success operations jobs?
You can find and apply to customer success operations jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Find the roles that match your experience and seniority level and apply directly to each listing from the page.
