Customer Success Specialist Jobs in Maryland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a customer success specialist in Maryland?
Most Maryland employers hire customer success specialists with a bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing, or a related field alongside relevant client-facing experience. Maryland does not require a state-issued license for this role. Candidates with backgrounds in account management, technical support, or inside sales transition into it most directly. Earning a recognized credential such as the SuccessHACKER Certified Customer Success Manager designation signals commitment to the profession and can strengthen applications at competitive Maryland employers.
How much do customer success specialists make in Maryland?
Customer success specialists in Maryland earn a median of about $42,830 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $32,600 for the lowest 10% to over $64,000 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire customer success specialists in Maryland?
Maryland customer success specialist roles are posted by Nayax, CPower, and Aramark and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Maryland's concentration of federal contractors, health technology firms, and cybersecurity companies means many of these openings focus on managing government-sector or regulated-industry accounts.
Which Maryland cities have the most customer success specialist jobs?
Rockville, Baltimore, and Bethesda have the most customer success specialist openings in Maryland. Baltimore anchors demand through its large healthcare and financial services employers, while Bethesda and the broader Montgomery County corridor concentrate roles at federal contractors and SaaS companies that serve government clients, making suburban markets like Columbia and Rockville active as well.
Are there remote customer success specialist jobs in Maryland?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 89% of customer success specialist openings tied to Maryland are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how well the role translates to video calls and digital communication tools. The portions of the job most commonly done remotely include onboarding calls, QBRs, and retention outreach, while strategic accounts tied to federal clients sometimes require periodic in-person visits.
How can I get hired as a customer success specialist in Maryland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a customer support, inside sales, or technical helpdesk role, which are common starting points at Maryland's large technology and healthcare employers. Companies like Leidos and CareFirst often post associate or junior customer success roles that accept candidates with strong communication skills over deep tenure. Building familiarity with a CRM platform and completing a foundational customer success certification before applying gives Maryland candidates a concrete edge over others at the same experience level.
Where can I find and apply to customer success specialist jobs in Maryland?
You can find and apply to customer success specialist jobs in Maryland on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings in the state. Search for roles that fit your background and experience, then apply directly to the ones that match. No signup is required to view and apply to the listings available right now.
