Customer Success Specialist Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a customer success specialist in Massachusetts?
Customer success specialist roles in Massachusetts require no state-issued license or certification. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing, or a related field, though relevant experience can substitute. Breaking in through a SaaS, health tech, or fintech company is the most direct path. Certifications like the SuccessHACKER Outcomes-Based CS Certification or Gainsight's PulseU credentials are increasingly recognized by Massachusetts hiring managers and give candidates a concrete edge.
How much do customer success specialists make in Massachusetts?
Customer success specialists in Massachusetts earn a median of about $49,120 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $35,440 for the lowest 10% to over $74,880 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire customer success specialists in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring customer success specialists in Massachusetts right now include Hi Marley, ServiceNow, and CYVL, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Massachusetts's dense concentration of SaaS and life sciences software companies means hiring is steady year-round, particularly in Greater Boston and the Route 128 corridor.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most customer success specialist jobs?
Boston, Waltham, and Cambridge have the most customer success specialist openings in Massachusetts. Boston and Cambridge dominate because of the high concentration of SaaS, biotech software, and fintech headquarters there, while Waltham draws volume from the Route 128 technology corridor, where companies like Veeva Systems and Brightcove maintain significant customer-facing teams.
Are there remote customer success specialist jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than most fields. Customer success is a desk-based, communication-driven role that translates well to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 77% of customer success specialist openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly Massachusetts employers have adopted flexible work for this function. Onboarding, renewal management, and ongoing account support are the segments most consistently offered remotely.
How can I get hired as a customer success specialist in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a support, sales development, or implementation coordinator role at a Boston-area SaaS or health tech company, then moving laterally into a junior customer success position. HubSpot, Toast, and Rapid7 all run structured associate or rotational programs that bring in candidates without direct CS experience. A completed Gainsight PulseU or SuccessHACKER certification paired with a documented onboarding project or case study makes a candidate competitive even without prior titles.
