Data Analytics Manager Jobs in Alabama: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data analytics manager in Alabama?
Most data analytics manager roles in Alabama require a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, data science, computer science, or business analytics, with a master's degree increasingly preferred at larger employers like Regions Financial or UAB Health System. There is no state-issued license for this role in Alabama. Advancement typically follows a path from analyst to senior analyst to manager, with candidates strengthening their position by earning vendor-neutral credentials such as the Certified Analytics Professional designation.
How much do data analytics managers make in Alabama?
Data analytics managers in Alabama earn a median of about $103,120 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $59,130 for the lowest 10% to over $161,590 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire data analytics managers in Alabama?
Companies currently hiring data analytics managers in Alabama include 4P Consulting, Raytheon, and Auburn University, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Alabama's concentration of large health systems, financial institutions, and defense contractors means openings frequently appear outside major tech hubs, often tied to corporate headquarters or government-adjacent operations based in the state.
Which Alabama cities have the most data analytics manager jobs?
Huntsville, Birmingham, and Redstone Arsenal account for the largest share of data analytics manager openings in Alabama. Birmingham leads because it is home to major financial institutions and large hospital networks, Huntsville's growth reflects demand from defense contractors and federal agencies concentrated in the Cummings Research Park area, and Montgomery draws openings from state government agencies and regional insurance and banking operations headquartered there.
Are there remote data analytics manager jobs in Alabama?
Yes, and more than most fields. Data analytics manager work is largely desk-based and output-driven, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 13% of data analytics manager openings tied to Alabama are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, which is consistent with the role's analytical and strategic nature. Strategy, reporting, and modeling functions are most frequently offered remotely, while roles requiring direct oversight of on-site teams or sensitive government data tend to stay in-person.
How can I get hired as a data analytics manager in Alabama with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a data or business analyst role first, then building toward management. Large Alabama employers such as Protective Life, UAB Medicine, and Tennessee Valley Authority hire entry-level analysts and often promote from within. Lateral moves from financial analyst, operations analyst, or reporting specialist roles are common routes into analytics management. Building a portfolio of projects in SQL and Tableau and completing a credential like the Google Data Analytics Certificate or a Certified Analytics Professional associate track gives early-career candidates a concrete edge in Alabama applications.
Where can I find and apply to data analytics manager jobs in Alabama?
You can find and apply to data analytics manager jobs in Alabama on Migrate Mate, which lists current Alabama openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, industry background, and preferred location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
