The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
The Spares Demand Planner is responsible for end-to-end service parts planning for assigned products, ensuring alignment to business objectives for customer service levels, inventory optimization, and lifecycle support. This role owns the development and execution of spares strategies to meet Fill Rate targets, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks across supply, demand, and product changes.
Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Spares Planner 3 serves as a key cross-functional partner to Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Service organizations. The role drives planning decisions through data analysis, cross-functional collaboration, system expertise, and business judgment, while leading initiatives that improve service performance, cost efficiency, and scalability of spares planning processes.
Core Responsibilities:
- Own spares planning strategy and execution for assigned product families across all lifecycle stages (NPI, ramp, sustaining, and end-of-life). Be the expert of assigned products
- Develop, maintain, and continuously optimize spares plans to meet Fill Rate targets and customer service commitment. Conduct thorough Root Cause Analysis for deviations to plan
- Monitor and report performance metrics including Fill Rate, service levels, and planned vs. actual inventory
- Proactively analyze demand signals, install base changes, and lifecycle events to adjust plans dynamically
- Review and validate system-generated planning recommendations, applying subject matter expertise to refine outputs through vetted and approved exceptions. Partner with Business Intelligence Team to incorporate advanced analytics to improve forecasts.
- Provide Root Cause/Corrective Action for Excess & No Demand (E&ND) inventory of assigned spare parts
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. Regional Planning, Product Support Organization (PSO), Supply Planning, Program Managers, etc.) to incorporate business/customer/technical insights into demand plan
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as primary point of contact for global stakeholders on part availability, supply risks, and recovery plans
- Lead cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Product Support (PSO), Procurement, and Logistics to resolve constraints and improve outcomes. Hold accountable owners to quality inputs and give visibility to upstream issues impacting spares planning to management
- Partner with Engineering on:
- ECOs and design changes
- FRU BOM and product structure readiness
- Quality issues impacting demand
- Drive execution of recovery plans, ramp readiness strategies, and critical part allocation decisions
Program & Process Ownership
- Participate as requested in strategic initiatives that improve service levels, reduce excess inventory, or enhance planning accuracy
- Support new product introductions with spares readiness and ramp planning strategies
- Contribute to continuous improvement of planning processes, tools, and data quality
- Escalate and communicate risks, trade-offs, and recommendations to leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in service supply chain, spares planning, or demand/supply planning within a complex product environment
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable decisions
- Excellent communication skills, including executive-level updates and stakeholder alignment
- Experience working with planning systems (e.g., SAP, IBP, Baxter/Prophet, or similar)
- Deep understanding of:
- Inventory optimization and service level trade-offs
- Product lifecycle management (NPI through EOL)
- BOM structures, FRU planning, or survival curve forecasting
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without formal authority
- Experience supporting global operations and working across time zones
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience in supply chain, demand planning, inventory planning, or related role
- Demonstrated experience managing supply/demand trade-offs and driving service performance
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel required; SQL / Power BI preferred)
- Experience working in cross-functional environments with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain
- Process oriented with proven experience turning big data into meaningful analyses that lead to actionable results for supply chain operations
- Strong data and analytical skills and track record for creating processes to improve business performance
- Ability to effectively deal with ambiguity, identify gaps, and implement innovative solutions to increase operational efficiency
- Ability to translate complex business needs into actionable plans
- Ability to identify key insights and critical thinking to prioritize and focus on highest value opportunities or biggest risks

Base Pay Range: $77,800.00 - $132,300.00 Annually
