Universal Academy Elementary School Teacher K-6 - South Campus
Elementary teacher will create and administer lesson plans for students that help them develop and flourish throughout the school year. The elementary teacher will teach, coach, motivate and discipline the students.
Elementary school teacher duties and responsibilities

Designs and presents individual lesson plans in one or more academic subjects using a variety of teaching techniques that appeal to various learning styles and methods.

Modify lesson plans and materials as needed to make them suitable for students’ current learning levels.

Prepares materials for lessons, assignments, and tests; evaluates, corrects, and grades student performance.
-
Plans and develops an engaging, age-appropriate course of study in the classroom, adhering to educational best practices and state and school district curriculum guidelines.

Discusses academic difficulties or behavioral problems with students as they arise.
-
Helping students prepare for standardized testing.
-
Overseeing students during recess, lunch and other activities.
-
Talking to parents about their children’s progress.
-
Work collaboratively with other teachers and administrators, including special ed teachers and teacher’s aids, to provide individualized support for each student on a regular basis.

Supervise the behavior of all students in the classroom, hallways, playground, throughout school grounds, and on educational trips.

Monitors students’ progress throughout the year and evaluates preparedness for next grade.

Communicates all progress and concerns with tact and professionalism to parents and, as appropriate, other faculty, staff, and principal.

Builds and maintains positive relationships with parents.

Enforces safety and security standards for students and visitors.
-
Collaborate with other teachers in order to share best practices and provide meaningful feedback regularly.

Make student observations regarding their strengths, abilities and areas of improvement, and report to parents and specialized educators if necessary for further testing and intervention.

Teach and enforce individualized classroom and playground, hallways and cafeteria rules for order and safety in the school.

Create inclusive environment and maintain classroom discipline.

Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.

Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.

State teaching license required.
