Tips for Your Enterprise Account Executive Job Search
Quantify pipeline and quota on your resume
Enterprise AE roles attract candidates who can show exact numbers: average deal size, annual quota, win rate against specific competitors. Replace vague phrases like 'exceeded targets' with figures that reflect the scale of accounts you've managed.
Tailor your resume to each vertical
Hiring managers in fintech, healthtech, and cybersecurity each want an AE who understands their buyer's priorities. Adjust your resume's summary and key wins to mirror the industry language and business problems listed in each job posting.
Filter openings by deal size and segment
Enterprise AE roles vary widely: some cover accounts above $1M ARR, others focus on greenfield mid-market. Read each posting carefully for minimum contract size, average sales cycle length, and whether the role is a hunter, farmer, or hybrid.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists enterprise account executive openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Prepare a repeatable deal story for interviews
Most enterprise AE interviews include a deep-dive on one closed deal. Walk through discovery, the economic buyer, the competitive threat, how you built the business case, and what almost killed the deal. Rehearse this until it flows naturally without sounding scripted.
Negotiate comp structure, not just base salary
Enterprise AE offers vary significantly in how accelerators, MBO bonuses, and equity vest. Before you accept, ask for the on-target earnings breakdown, the quota attainment distribution for the team, and whether overachievement accelerators kick in at 100% or higher.
Enterprise Account Executive Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most enterprise account executives?
The companies hiring the most enterprise account executives right now include Salesforce, Comcast, and Databricks, with the largest share of openings in California, New York, and Texas, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Technology, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure companies consistently drive the highest volume of enterprise AE openings nationwide.
How many enterprise account executive jobs are remote?
About 73% of enterprise account executive openings are fully remote or hybrid as of August 2026, making it one of the more location-flexible senior sales roles. Roles focused on named account management and renewals tend to be the most remote-friendly, while new logo or greenfield hunter roles more often require regional travel or proximity to a territory.
How do you become an enterprise account executive?
Start in a quota-carrying inside sales or commercial AE role to build foundational closing experience, then move into roles with progressively larger deal sizes and longer sales cycles. Develop fluency in a recognized sales methodology, learn to navigate multi-threaded enterprise buying committees, and build a portfolio of documented wins you can speak to clearly in interviews.
Can you get hired as an enterprise account executive with limited experience?
It's difficult to move directly into an enterprise AE role without prior closing experience, but a strong record as a mid-market AE or a senior SDR who has consistently influenced pipeline can open doors. Emphasize complex deal involvement, even in a supporting role, and target companies known for promoting from within their commercial sales teams.
What does the enterprise account executive interview process look like?
Most enterprise AE interview processes include an initial recruiter screen, a hiring manager conversation focused on your sales methodology and past quota performance, a deep-dive deal review where you walk through a significant closed won or lost, and a final round with sales leadership or a cross-functional panel. Some companies add a written territory plan or mock discovery call as a final step.
Where can I find and apply to enterprise account executive jobs?
You can find and apply to enterprise account executive jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Search the listings to find roles that match your industry background, deal size experience, and preferred location or remote arrangement, then apply directly to each listing that fits.
