Experienced Project Manager Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a experienced project manager in Utah?
Most Utah employers require a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or information systems combined with several years of hands-on project leadership. Earning a Project Management Professional credential through the Project Management Institute is the most widely recognized path and is explicitly required by many Utah job postings. Some roles in healthcare or defense accept equivalent experience in lieu of a degree, but the PMP remains the clearest differentiator for senior positions in Utah's technology and healthcare sectors.
How much do experienced project managers make in Utah?
Experienced project managers in Utah earn a median of about $96,720 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $56,840 for the lowest 10% to over $159,240 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire experienced project managers in Utah?
Employers hiring experienced project managers in Utah right now include University of Utah, eBay, and GE HealthCare, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Utah's mix of large healthcare systems, defense contractors, and tech firms means demand is spread across industries rather than concentrated in a single sector.
Which Utah cities have the most experienced project manager jobs?
Salt Lake City, Draper, and Sandy account for the largest share of experienced project manager openings in Utah. Salt Lake City anchors the market through its concentration of corporate headquarters, health systems, and tech employers, while Provo and Lehi benefit from the Silicon Slopes corridor, and Ogden draws demand from aerospace and defense contractors like L3Harris.
Are there remote experienced project manager jobs in Utah?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 27% of experienced project manager openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how much of the work happens in digital tools and virtual meetings rather than on a physical site. Program and technology-focused project management roles tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while construction and facilities project managers are almost always required on-site.
How can I get hired as a experienced project manager in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a project coordinator or junior project manager role at one of Utah's large employers in healthcare, technology, or defense. Intermountain Health and several Silicon Slopes companies run structured associate program manager tracks that develop candidates without direct PM experience. Earning a Certified Associate in Project Management credential through the Project Management Institute signals readiness to employers and is achievable without prior PM titles. Moving laterally from business analyst, operations coordinator, or scrum master roles is also a well-worn path into project management at Utah companies.
Where can I find and apply to experienced project manager jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to experienced project manager jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from Utah employers. Search the listings, find roles that match your experience and specialization, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
