Which companies hire family medicines in New York?
Employers hiring family medicines in New York right now include Bassett Healthcare Network, Canton-Potsdam Hospital, and CareMed Primary and Urgent Care, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's large integrated health systems and federally qualified health centers across the state tend to hire on a rolling basis, making them reliable sources of openings in both urban centers and underserved rural communities.
Which New York cities have the most family medicine jobs?
Brooklyn, Rochester, and Oneonta have the most family medicine openings in New York. New York City leads because of its concentration of major academic medical centers and community health organizations, while Buffalo's large hospital systems and Albany's role as a regional healthcare hub for upstate New York generate consistent demand outside the metro area.
Are there remote family medicine jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of family medicine openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting that most patient care requires an in-person clinical setting. The parts of the role most likely to be conducted remotely are telehealth follow-up visits, chronic disease monitoring consultations, and administrative or utilization review duties rather than primary hands-on care.
How can I get hired as a family medicine in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is completing a New York-based family medicine residency through programs at institutions like Northwell Health, Montefiore, or SUNY Downstate, which are designed specifically for physicians entering the field. New graduates without independent experience can also pursue staff physician roles at federally qualified health centers across New York, which regularly recruit from residency pipelines. Holding an active New York State medical license and ABFM board eligibility before applying gives candidates a clear competitive edge.
