This position will be located at Southern Company (30 Allen), Atlanta, GA. This position will be required to be in the office 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday) and Friday is optionally remote depending on business needs.
JOB SUMMARY
The Executive Assistant position provides administrative and clerical support for the Senior Vice President, Finance & Treasurer Officer and other senior level direct reports as needed . This requires someone with extensive experience in the administrative field supporting an officer in a corporate environment. The most qualified candidates will possess exceptional organizational and decision-making skills, strong working knowledge of computer applications and administrative best practices, and the ability and desire to work through changing priorities with minimal supervision.
The Executive Assistant works closely with executive offices across the Southern Company footprint to manage calendar, travel arrangements, and organize team events. This position views significantly confidential information and must be able to maintain that confidentiality.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- Degree preferred or Certification
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working as an Executive Assistant or Administrative Assistant supporting senior level executives (Director level and above) required.
- Experience working in a corporate office setting is required.
- High level of proficiency using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
- Experience using Oracle Enterprise Foundation solutions or similar software products is highly preferred. Experience dealing with special communication protocols and procedures is required.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Executive Support & Calendar Management
- Manages an executive calendar; schedules internal and external meetings; prioritizes scheduling decisions; coordinates with internal leaders and external partners; ensures the executive is prepared with agendas and materials.
- Travel & Expense Management
- Plans and books executive travel; prepares itineraries; processes expense reports; ensures compliance with policies and supports budgeting and reconciliation for related administrative expenses.
- Meeting & Event Coordination
- Coordinates logistics for meetings, conferences, and team events; oversees agendas, attendee communications, and room logistics.
- Administrative Operations & Process Management
- Supports day-to-day operational activities including timekeeping, invoice processing, vendor coordination, documentation management, reporting, and workflow tracking.
- Relationship Management & Cross Functional Coordination
- Acts as a liaison between the Senior Finance & Treasurer Officer and key stakeholders across Southern Company; builds strong relationships with administrative partners; helps keep communication flowing and priorities aligned.

- Support onboarding activities for new team members.
