As a Finance Assistant, you’ll provide financial and administrative support to ensure accurate, timely financial operations through data entry, account processing, problem solving and reconciliation. Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and receivable, preparing payables for review and approval.
- Maintain vendor records and process annual 1099 information
- Enter transactions, prepare journal entries, and apply double-entry bookkeeping, debits and credits, and general ledger accounting practices.
- Reconcile accounts and balance sheets; support general ledger reconciliation, account analysis, budgeting, audits and year-end closing activities.
- Use accounting systems and financial software to organize records, analyze Excel data, and prepare spreadsheets.
- Assist with Inventory management, provide back-up support for payroll and grant revenue and expense tracking,
- Handle confidential information carefully and provide responsive customer service.
Qualifications
- Associates in Accounting, Finance, Business, Administration or equivalent experience, including accounting, numeracy, math, financial concepts, and financial acumen.
- Familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and a minimum of three (3) years related experience is required; experience in a non-profit organization will be most helpful.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, Excel data analysis, data entry, and accurate key-boarding.
- Knowledge of accounting systems, financial software, accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger processes is required. Payroll, inventory management and grant funding tracking is helpful.

- High level of ethics, integrity and accountability
- Effective communication skills and a service-oriented approach to work
Pay: $17.50 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 20.0 per week
