Overview
The South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) is proud of our success supporting students and education in South Carolina. Since the launch of the Lottery in 2002, we have transferred more than $9.4 billion to the Education Lottery Account, for appropriation by the General Assembly to improve education in our State. We offer two types of products to our players: Instant Tickets, better known as scratch off-games, and terminal-generated tickets, (i.e. Pick 3 & Pick 4 plus Fireball, Palmetto Cash 5, MegaMillions®, Powerball®, and Cash Pop.) We believe that when you play the games of the South Carolina Education Lottery, you are not just taking a chance, you are giving one!
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (preferred but not required)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
- Comfortable working with computers, scanners, and basic office software
- Reliable, proactive, and willing to learn
ABILITIES
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Finance/Operations Intern to support our SCEL team with day-to-day administrative tasks. This role is ideal for a student or early-career candidate who wants hands-on experience in a professional office environment while learning how a finance department operates behind the scenes.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
- Scan, organize, and maintain digital and physical financial documents
- Assist with filing, data entry, and document management
- Support the team with routine administrative tasks and office organization
- Performs receptionist duties, to include answering the telephone, greeting visitors, issuing and tracking SCEL-issued guest badges and providing information in response to inquiries from the public as needed
- Provides customer service and assistance with Claim Forms at Lottery claims center as needed
- Help ensure records are accurate, complete, and stored according to company procedures
- Provide general support to finance staff as needed
