Financial Consultant Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial consultant in Colorado?
Most financial consultant roles in Colorado require passing the FINRA Series 65 exam to register as an Investment Adviser Representative, or the Series 7 and Series 66 combination if you'll also sell securities. Registration is handled through FINRA and filed with the Colorado Division of Securities. Employers typically require a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or accounting. A CFP designation strengthens candidacy considerably for wealth management and fee-based advisory positions.
Which companies hire financial consultants in Colorado?
Colorado financial consultant roles are posted by Wealthbridge Financial, Deloitte, and Ryder System and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Colorado's mix of large financial services headquarters, regional wealth management firms, and corporate finance departments at energy and technology companies creates steady, diversified hiring throughout the year.
Which Colorado cities have the most financial consultant jobs?
Denver, Kersey, and Windsor have the most financial consultant openings in Colorado. Denver dominates because it is home to major financial services operations and corporate headquarters, while Boulder's tech and biotech sector generates strong demand for corporate and equity planning consultants, and Colorado Springs supports a steady stream of openings tied to its large military and government contractor workforce.
Are there remote financial consultant jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than many comparable professional roles. About 100% of financial consultant openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the strong shift toward virtual client advisory work across the industry. Financial planning, investment analysis, and portfolio review work are the most remote-friendly segments, while roles requiring in-person client relationship management are more likely to require at least a hybrid schedule.
How can I get hired as a financial consultant in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a financial advisor associate or client service associate role at a large firm with a structured training program. Charles Schwab and Fidelity Investments both run associate development programs at their Colorado offices that bring in candidates without prior advisory experience and train them toward licensing. Passing the Series 65 exam before applying gives candidates a clear edge. Adjacent roles in banking, insurance, and tax preparation at firms like H&R Block or local credit unions also provide a recognized bridge into consulting.
Where can I find and apply to financial consultant jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to financial consultant jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current Colorado openings across Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, and surrounding areas. Search the listings, find the roles that match your experience and specialty, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
