Senior Corporate Accountant Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior corporate accountant in Colorado?
Most Colorado employers require a CPA license issued or recognized by the Colorado State Board of Accountancy, which oversees licensure under the Colorado Revised Statutes. Candidates typically hold a bachelor's degree in accounting with the credit hours required for CPA eligibility, then accumulate several years of corporate or public accounting experience before stepping into a senior role. Strong GAAP knowledge and ERP proficiency accelerate the path considerably.
How much do senior corporate accountants make in Colorado?
Senior corporate accountants in Colorado earn a median of about $97,030 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,760 for the lowest 10% to over $162,160 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior corporate accountants in Colorado?
Employers hiring senior corporate accountants in Colorado right now include Jobot, SSR Mining, and Kinder Morgan, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Colorado's mix of energy companies along the Front Range, aerospace and defense contractors near Denver and Colorado Springs, and growing technology firms in Boulder creates a consistently broad field of corporate accounting employers.
Which Colorado cities have the most senior corporate accountant jobs?
Denver, Thornton, and Englewood account for the largest share of senior corporate accountant openings in Colorado. Denver leads because it is home to the regional headquarters of major energy, financial services, and healthcare organizations, while Boulder attracts technology and life-sciences companies that staff dedicated accounting teams, and Colorado Springs draws demand from defense contractors and utilities concentrated in the southern Front Range corridor.
Are there remote senior corporate accountant jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than most fields, because senior corporate accounting is desk-based and analytical rather than site-dependent. About 60% of senior corporate accountant openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how well the role translates to distributed work arrangements. Financial reporting, close coordination, and consolidations are the sub-functions most frequently offered on a fully remote or hybrid basis.
How can I get hired as a senior corporate accountant in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a staff or senior accountant associate role at one of Colorado's large corporate employers or regional public accounting firms, then building toward the senior level internally. Denver-area companies such as Xcel Energy and DaVita, along with regional audit and advisory firms, regularly hire new-graduate and early-career accountants into rotational or staff positions. Sitting for the CPA exam through the Colorado State Board of Accountancy while in a junior role signals commitment and accelerates promotion timelines meaningfully.
Where can I find and apply to senior corporate accountant jobs in Colorado?
