Senior Corporate Accountant Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior corporate accountant in Florida?
Most Florida employers require a CPA license issued or recognized by the Florida Board of Accountancy, which means passing all four sections of the Uniform CPA Exam and meeting Florida's education and experience requirements. A bachelor's degree in accounting is the standard starting point. Candidates typically spend several years in public accounting or in a staff or senior accountant role at a corporation before moving into a senior corporate accountant position in Florida.
How much do senior corporate accountants make in Florida?
Senior corporate accountants in Florida earn a median of about $79,250 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $50,280 for the lowest 10% to over $131,930 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior corporate accountants in Florida?
Employers hiring senior corporate accountants in Florida right now include Brooks Rehabilitation, Publix, and CP, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's concentration of financial services firms, hospitality conglomerates, and large healthcare systems means demand for technical accounting talent remains steady across the state year-round.
Which Florida cities have the most senior corporate accountant jobs?
Jacksonville, Boca Raton, and Miami have the most senior corporate accountant openings in Florida. Miami leads because of its dense financial services and multinational corporate headquarters base, Tampa draws volume from Raymond James, WellCare, and a growing technology and insurance sector, and Orlando's large hospitality and healthcare employers generate consistent demand for senior-level accounting staff.
Are there remote senior corporate accountant jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields. Senior corporate accountant work is largely analytical and system-based, making it well suited to remote arrangements. About 75% of senior corporate accountant openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly Florida employers have adopted flexible models for finance roles. Technical accounting, financial reporting, and consolidation work tend to be the most remote-friendly functions within the role.
How can I get hired as a senior corporate accountant in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a staff accountant role at a Florida public accounting firm or a large corporate employer, where you build the close and reporting experience that senior roles require. Large Florida healthcare systems like AdventHealth and HCA Florida, and financial firms like Raymond James, regularly hire new graduates into rotational or staff-level accounting programs. Earning or actively pursuing your CPA, and gaining exposure to ERP systems like SAP or Oracle, strengthens a junior candidate's application considerably.
