Job Summary
Senior Corporate Accountant – Revenue & Regulatory Reporting (Healthcare) | CPA Required | No Direct Reports
Ideal for CPAs looking to exit public accounting (2–4 busy seasons of experience) into a highly specialized, analytical corporate role. The Senior Corporate Accountant provides specialized oversight for regulatory reimbursement and revenue analysis as it pertains to net revenue recognition, accounts receivable valuation, and regulatory compliance for hospitals and other providers. Unlike traditional accounting roles, this position does not focus on month-end close, expense management, or general ledger debits and credits. Instead, you will ensure the accuracy of complex AR reserves and state supplemental funding balances, while managing all aspects of Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting and audits. The Lifestyle: 100% Remote (or hybrid) with our Nashville team, and zero billable hours. No Healthcare Experience Required: We will train you on the healthcare nuances.
Essential Functions
Revenue Valuation & Reserve Analysis
- Supports a portfolio of hospitals by conducting specialized monthly reviews focused strictly on net revenue, cost report reserves, and the valuation of accounts receivable.
- Validates that accounts receivable (AR) reserves and state supplemental balances are accurate and properly stated.
- Develops and maintains analytical tools, profitability models, and financial indicator reports to track revenue valuation trends.
Regulatory & Reimbursement Management
- Manages the preparation and submission of annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, audits, appeals, and reopenings.

- Monitors legislative and regulatory changes in state Medicaid programs to assess their impact on revenue models.
- Communicates directly with Medicare and Medicaid Intermediaries to resolve audit and reporting issues.
Stakeholder Communication & Projects
- Manages targeted projects designed to optimize net revenue and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provides high-level operational feedback and decision support to executive management.
- Maintains quarterly touchpoints with CFOs to present high-level financial insights (Note: Day-to-day data is highly automated, resulting in minimal routine hospital-level communication).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Experience: 1+ years of recent accounting/auditing experience with a CPA firm required (minimum of 2 busy seasons).
- Licenses/Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Analytical Mindset: Exceptional data analysis and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data validation rather than transactional accounting.
- Tech-Savvy: Advanced proficiency with Excel; comfortable working within highly automated financial environments.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for executive-level updates (CFOs) and external regulatory bodies.
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to audit complex valuation models and identify anomalies in large data sets.

Tips for Your Senior Corporate Accountant Job Search
Tailor your resume to each filing
Senior corporate accountant roles vary by whether the employer files under GAAP or IFRS and whether the company is publicly traded. Highlight which standard you've worked under, your experience with 10-K or 10-Q filings, and whether you've supported external auditors directly.
Lead with close cycle metrics
Hiring managers for this role scan for evidence you can own a close. Quantify how many entities or subsidiaries you consolidated, how many days your current close runs, and any improvements you drove, rather than listing generic duties like 'prepared journal entries.'
Target openings by entity structure
A senior corporate accountant role at a single-entity private company and one at a multi-entity public company are very different jobs. Filter openings by whether the employer is publicly traded, has international subsidiaries, or uses a shared services model, then apply where your experience aligns.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists senior corporate accountant openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Prepare for technical close-process questions
Interviewers will ask you to walk through a month-end close from journal entries to reconciliations to management reporting. Practice describing your exact steps, the systems you use, and how you handle variances or accrual discrepancies before your interview.
Negotiate beyond base pay at offer stage
At this level, CPA exam reimbursement, study leave, continuing education allowances, and bonus structure are all negotiable. Ask for the full compensation breakdown in writing before accepting, and confirm whether bonuses are discretionary or formula-driven.
Senior Corporate Accountant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most senior corporate accountants?
The companies hiring the most senior corporate accountants right now include Amazon, Alvarez & Marsal, and Vail Resorts, with the largest share of openings in California, New York, and Texas, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Demand is strongest in industries with complex multi-entity structures, including financial services, healthcare systems, and large-scale manufacturing.
How many senior corporate accountant jobs are remote?
About 35% of senior corporate accountant openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how broadly the role has shifted since close and reporting workflows moved to cloud-based ERPs. Financial reporting, consolidations, and technical accounting sub-specializations tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while roles tied to plant-level or operational accounting are more frequently on-site.
How do you become a senior corporate accountant?
Start with a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, then build two to four years of experience in general ledger accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting. Earning your CPA significantly strengthens candidacy for senior roles. From there, take on ownership of reconciliations, intercompany eliminations, or a full close cycle to demonstrate readiness for a senior title.
Can you get hired as a senior corporate accountant without direct senior experience?
Yes, if you can show ownership rather than just participation. Employers promote or hire candidates at the senior level when they have led a full close cycle, owned a balance sheet area end-to-end, or supported an audit with minimal supervision. A CPA or progress toward one compensates for a shorter total tenure when the underlying experience is substantive.
What does the senior corporate accountant interview process look like?
Most processes run two to four rounds. The first is typically a recruiter or HR screen focused on experience and fit. A hiring manager interview follows, covering your close process, ERP experience, and how you handle reconciling discrepancies. Technical rounds may include a walkthrough of a sample journal entry, a consolidation scenario, or questions on GAAP treatment for specific transactions. A final round with a controller or CFO is common at larger companies.
Where can I find and apply to senior corporate accountant jobs?
You can find and apply to senior corporate accountant jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience, industry background, and preferred location or remote arrangement, then apply directly to each listing that fits.
