Job Summary:
As a Project Manager at NFP Rx Solution, you will lead initiatives focused on optimizing prescription benefits for self-funded employers. This role requires a deep understanding of prescription benefit management, healthcare regulations, and project management best practices. The successful candidate will represent the company and take the lead role in collaborating with external partners, clients, prospects, and cross-functional teams to implement tailored, cost-effective, and efficient prescription benefit programs for our clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the end to end process of winning and implementing new business; including the RFP process, all contracts and redlines, implementation with PBM or carrier, QA testing, and VPS product implementation.
- Manage the process for market checks and renewals of existing business.
- Lead project initiatives with key stakeholders and define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
- Communicate externally as a representative of the company sharing project updates, requests, deliverables, and “Our Value Added Service”.
- Proficient in PBM marketplace, including carrier contracts and services.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify and assign skilled team members to projects.
- Implement and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure deliverables meet client expectations.
- Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs effectively.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, meeting minutes, and status reports.
- Present a positive image of self and of VPS / NFP, in and out of the office.
Minimum Requirements for Education, Experience, and Certifications/Licenses:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prefer 5 years’ experience in PBM or related industry experience in project management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of the Employee Benefits industry, and PBM specifically
- Ability to interpret industry policies and contract documents, proposals, and other documentation
- Ability to respond efficiently and accurately to common inquiries or complaints from customers or carrier
- Ability to effectively present information to insured clients and their respective carriers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and command of the English language
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as percentages, adding, subtracting, multiplying and division to required tasks
- High degree of critical thinking, organizational and decision making skills
- High degree of initiative
- High degree of attention to detail
- Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet objectives and deadlines established by supervisor and clients, often with short turnaround times
- Ability to maintain positive and beneficial relationships with department staff, numerous internal departments, external customers, agents, and subscribers
- Proficiency in MS Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to comply with company confidentiality requirements as well as with HIPAA and other applicable government regulations
- Excellent leadership skills
Travel:
This position may require travel 5% of the time, with occasional overnight trips.

The base salary range for this position is $64,000.00 – $86,000.00. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
