Overview
The Product Manager within Mastercard's Switching Solutions team is responsible for defining and delivering solutions that support Mastercard's core transaction processing systems. This role partners closely with customers, stakeholders, engineering, and architecture teams to understand needs, identify opportunities, and drive product outcomes that balance customer value, business objectives, and technical considerations.
Working at the intersection of business and technology, the Product Manager supports the product lifecycle from discovery and requirements through delivery and ongoing optimization. Success in this role requires strong product thinking, business acumen, stakeholder management, and the ability to influence decisions, navigate complexity, and drive alignment across a highly matrixed organization.
Role
- Partner with customers, product teams, and stakeholders to understand business needs, identify opportunities, and translate them into clear business, functional, and technical requirements
- Act as the voice of the customer throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring solutions align with user needs, business objectives, and operational goals
- Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to define scalable technical solutions and ensure alignment between business requirements and technical capabilities
- Support the end-to-end product delivery lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, Agile delivery, testing, implementation, and post-production monitoring
- Manage and refine product requirements, user stories, and priorities to support delivery goals and business outcomes
- Facilitate cross-functional discussions, working sessions, and stakeholder alignment across multiple teams
- Create and maintain high-quality product, technical, and process documentation
- Apply analytical thinking and sound judgment to evaluate trade-offs, solve complex problems, and recommend effective solutions
- Monitor product performance and delivery outcomes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and enhanced customer experiences
- Drive progress across multiple initiatives, proactively identifying risks, removing blockers, and ensuring successful execution
- Contribute innovative ideas and process improvements that enhance product delivery and strengthen Mastercard's core transaction capabilities
All About You
- Experience in Product Management, Technical Product Management, Product Ownership, Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, or a related discipline
- Experience gathering, documenting, and managing business, functional, and technical requirements
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and working closely with engineering teams
- Ability to translate customer needs and business objectives into actionable product requirements and technical solutions
- Experience collaborating with architects and engineers on solution design, system workflows, and technical documentation
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance customer needs, technical considerations, and organizational priorities
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, build alignment, and drive outcomes across a matrixed organization
- Strong communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing multiple priorities and navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of payments processing and the four-party payments ecosystem preferred
- Self-starter who is proactive, adaptable, and comfortable driving initiatives forward with limited direction
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or a related field preferred

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.
