HR Generalist
Summary
The HR Generalist will report to the HR Manager. He/she will primarily focus on providing HR services to PHX stakeholders. The role will perform successful and efficient execution of HR operations in support of the employee life cycle, such as recruitment, employee onboarding and training, policy administration, employee relations, and employee off-boarding, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Recruiting & Staffing
- Full cycle Talent Acquisition activity for hourly and certain salaried positions. Ad development, recruit, screening, and interviewing qualified candidates, background check drug screen and offer letter preparation.
- Compliance & Employee Relations
- Ensure effective onboarding of hourly and certain salaried employees, including training on plant/company policies and procedures.
- Facilitate production performance review processes (i.e. probationary and annual performance reviews).
- Ensure all shift supervisors timely manage and follow-up with hourly employee’s time & attendance.
- Assist the HR Manager with investigations, compliance concerns, and corrective action where appropriate.
- Participates in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations for hourly associates or as delegate to HR Manager.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and safeguards company information and assets.
- Verify attendance, hours worked, pay adjustments, and post information in ADP system.
- Record employee information, such as exemptions, promotions, transfers, and resignations, to maintain and update payroll records.
- Timely and accurately process payroll bi-weekly.
- ADP experience strongly preferred.
- Records Management
- Create and maintain employee records & training files daily.
- Policies & Procedures/Communication
- Assist employees with HR questions and provides information on company benefits.
- Assist employees with questions on leave of absence (i.e. FMLA, STD, LTD).
- Assist with worker’s compensation and incident investigation matters.
- Engagement, Rewards and Recognition
- Assist with event planning, employee meals/cookouts, community outreach and etc.
- Prepare monthly newsletter.
- Administer employee bonuses, ensure correct bonus payment, and document all bonus pay-outs.
- Pulse surveys and idea generation awards for continuous improvement.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or related field is preferred. Associate degree will be considered coupled with additional work experience.
- 3+ years of human resource work experience in a multi-shift, manufacturing environment is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task with changing priorities.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management (ADP), human resource information systems (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
