Human Capital Management Jobs in North Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a human capital management in North Carolina?
The most direct path is a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field followed by entry-level HR experience. North Carolina does not require a state-issued license to practice human capital management, but most employers expect or require credentials from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) or the HR Certification Institute (PHR or SPHR). Earning one of these credentials while building experience in generalist or specialist roles is the standard route to advancing in the state.
How much do human capital managements make in North Carolina?
Human capital managements in North Carolina earn a median of about $142,990 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $90,390 for the lowest 10% to over $260,610 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire human capital managements in North Carolina?
Employers hiring human capital managements in North Carolina right now include Intuit, DP World, and Deloitte, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. North Carolina's dense mix of financial services headquarters in Charlotte and the Research Triangle's technology and life-sciences sector means a wide variety of industries and company sizes are consistently active.
Which North Carolina cities have the most human capital management jobs?
Charlotte and Raleigh account for the largest share of human capital management openings in North Carolina. Charlotte's concentration of financial services and Fortune 500 regional headquarters drives the highest volume, while Raleigh and Durham benefit from the Research Triangle's technology, biotech, and university employers, creating sustained demand for compensation, HRIS, and talent acquisition professionals across both metros.
Are there remote human capital management jobs in North Carolina?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 100% of human capital management openings tied to North Carolina are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of the work centers on analysis, strategy, and systems rather than on-site administration. Compensation benchmarking, HRIS configuration, and HR business partner roles are the sub-areas most likely to be posted as fully remote.
How can I get hired as a human capital management in North Carolina with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is an HR coordinator or HR generalist role, which large North Carolina employers such as Bank of America, Duke Health, and Novant Health post regularly for candidates with a relevant degree and no prior HR title. Internship and rotational programs at these organizations are open to new graduates. Earning the SHRM-CP while in a coordinator role, or transitioning from a payroll, recruiting coordinator, or benefits administrator position, signals readiness for broader human capital management responsibilities.
Where can I find and apply to human capital management jobs in North Carolina?
