PRIMARY PURPOSE: The People & Culture Specialist serves as the operational backbone of the People & Culture function, ensuring the accurate and efficient administration of HR programs, systems and processes across the employee lifecycle. This role manages HR operations including onboarding, HRIS administration, benefits support, workforce reporting, surveys, workers’ compensation, performance management administration, and compliance-related activities. The position plays a key role in maintaining data integrity, driving process improvement and delivering a positive employee experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
Experience:
- Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, HR operations, employee services, or a related field
- Experience with HRIS platforms, HR reporting, onboarding, benefits administration, or employee lifecycle processes preferred
- Experience with Paylocity or similar HRIS strongly preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and employment-related regulations
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and follow-through
- Advanced organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and prepare reports for various audiences
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to leverage technology and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, analyze information, and support decision-making
- Strong customer-service orientation and commitment to providing responsive support to employees and leaders
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle
- Maintain employee records, personnel files, and HRIS data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and data integrity
- Process employment verifications, employee status changes, and other HR transactions
- Coordinate onboarding activities including new hire paperwork, system setup, orientation logistics, and pre-employment requirements
- Lead new hire orientation and support employee offboarding activities
- Maintain HRIS position inventory and organizational records
Benefits, Compliance & People Programs
- Support benefits administration, leave administration, worker’s compensation, and compliance reporting activities
- Administer employee surveys including engagement, onboarding, post-training, and ad hoc feedback surveys
- Coordinate engagement initiatives and co-lead employee focus groups
- Administer the annual performance review process, including timelines, communications, training and system support
Workforce Analytics, Systems & Documentation
- Develop workforce reports, dashboards, analytics, and executive-ready presentations
- Analyze workforce trends and provide data insights to support decision-making
- Maintain and update job descriptions to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with organizational standards
- Recommend process improvements and support handbook, policy, and HR systems administration
General
- Post job openings on company social media pages
- Maintain the People & Culture and Careers inboxes and provide responsive customer service
- Maintain confidentially and exercise sound judgement in all interactions
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
