Industrial Sales Manager Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a industrial sales manager in Missouri?
Industrial sales managers in Missouri are not required to hold a state-issued license, but most employers expect a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a technical discipline alongside several years of field sales experience. The typical path runs through an inside or outside sales representative role at a Missouri manufacturer or distributor, followed by a promotion to team lead or territory manager. Certifications from the Manufacturers' Representatives Educational Research Foundation can strengthen a candidate's profile with Missouri hiring managers.
How much do industrial sales managers make in Missouri?
Industrial sales managers in Missouri earn a median of about $115,370 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,920 for the lowest 10% to over $223,340 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire industrial sales managers in Missouri?
Companies currently hiring industrial sales managers in Missouri include Buckman, Snap-on, and Chemelex, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Missouri's dense concentration of manufacturing and distribution companies, particularly in the St. Louis and Kansas City corridors, means consistent openings across automation, electrical, and industrial supply sectors.
Which Missouri cities have the most industrial sales manager jobs?
Missouri, St. Louis, and Kansas City post the most industrial sales manager openings in Missouri. St. Louis leads because of its large base of Fortune 500 manufacturers and industrial distributors, Kansas City follows as a major freight and distribution hub, and Springfield anchors demand in southwest Missouri where regional manufacturing and supply operations are concentrated.
Are there remote industrial sales manager jobs in Missouri?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely desk-based fields because industrial sales managers typically conduct site visits, product demonstrations, and in-person negotiations with procurement teams. About 67% of industrial sales manager openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those positions tend to focus on account management and strategic planning rather than hands-on territory development.
How can I get hired as a industrial sales manager in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is an inside sales or sales development representative role at a Missouri-based industrial distributor or manufacturer, such as those operating in the St. Louis manufacturing corridor or the Kansas City distribution market. Companies in these areas often move strong inside sales performers into junior territory roles. Pursuing a technical associate degree or a Certified Sales Professional designation from the Sales Management Association gives candidates a measurable edge when applying for first-time management openings.
Where can I find and apply to industrial sales manager jobs in Missouri?
You can find and apply to industrial sales manager jobs in Missouri on Migrate Mate, which lists current Missouri openings updated regularly. Search the roles available, identify the ones that fit your experience and target region, and apply directly through each listing.
