Insights Analyst Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a insights analyst in New York?
Insights analyst roles in New York do not require a state-issued license or registration, so the path runs through education and demonstrated analytical skill. Most employers in New York expect a bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business discipline, and many large firms in the city's financial services, media, and CPG sectors give preference to candidates who also hold a master's or have completed a graduate certificate in market research or data analytics.
How much do insights analysts make in New York?
Insights analysts in New York earn a median of about $98,580 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $56,070 for the lowest 10% to over $165,920 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire insights analysts in New York?
Employers hiring insights analysts in New York right now include The New York Times, Amazon, and AssistRx, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's concentration of media companies, major consumer brands, and global financial institutions means demand for insights talent is spread across multiple high-volume sectors rather than a single dominant industry.
Which New York cities have the most insights analyst jobs?
New York, New York City, and Sleepy Hollow have the most insights analyst openings in New York. New York City accounts for the overwhelming share of demand given its role as the headquarters base for major media, financial services, and consumer goods companies, while White Plains and other Westchester-area locations reflect satellite offices and research operations tied to those same large employers.
Are there remote insights analyst jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 45% of insights analyst openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the desk-based, digital nature of the work. Research and data synthesis tasks are the most consistently remote, though roles requiring close collaboration with brand or strategy teams in New York City often retain a hybrid expectation.
How can I get hired as a insights analyst in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a research coordinator or junior analyst role at one of New York's market research firms or large consumer brands, where structured onboarding programs bring in candidates with strong academic backgrounds and limited field experience. Companies like Nielsen and major media groups in the city regularly recruit recent graduates into rotational or associate analyst tracks. Building a portfolio of independent data projects and earning a Google Data Analytics or similar certificate gives entry-level candidates a concrete edge in a competitive New York applicant pool.
Where can I find and apply to insights analyst jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to insights analyst jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current New York openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly to each one.
