Position Summary
Perforce is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Content (product) Marketing Manager to drive software products content strategy, thought leadership, and product storytelling for the Digital Creation product portfolio (which includes Perforce P4 and Perforce IPLM).
This role will report to the Sr. Director of Product Marketing and is responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive content strategy that drives awareness, improves engagement, and generates pipeline growth, among technical and business audiences. The ideal candidate is a masterful coordinator that combines exceptional storytelling skills with a data-driven approach to content performance.
As an individual contributor, you will collaborate closely with product marketing, product management, and subject matter experts to translate complex technical concepts into clear and compelling content that resonates with developers, technical artists, engineering leaders, and enterprise decision makers.
About the Team
The Digital Creation marketing team is focused on helping innovative organizations build, manage, and scale the world's most sophisticated digital creation pipelines. Our team partners across marketing, product, sales, and customer-facing organizations to communicate the value of P4 and related solutions to customers across game development, media and entertainment, automotive, simulation, and other technology-driven industries.
We are passionate about helping technical teams of all sizes work more efficiently while enabling organizations to manage complex assets, workflows, and development environments at scale.
Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive content marketing strategy aligned to business objectives, product launches, customer journeys, and revenue goals.
- Utilize SEO and AEO best practices to ensure brands are prominent in organic search and LLM results for our target audiences.
- Build and manage editorial calendars that efficiently support brand awareness, thought leadership, and pipeline generation initiatives.
- Identify content gaps, audience needs, and market opportunities through customer insights, competitive research, and performance analytics.
- Partner with marketing leadership to support messaging frameworks, campaign themes, and integrated go-to-market initiatives.
Performance & Optimization:
- Measure, analyze, and report on content performance using established marketing metrics. This role will provide a data-centric mindset to content requests, efficiently refresh and repurpose top performing content into new formats and distributing across the customer journey.
- Optimize content strategies based on audience behavior, engagement, pipeline contribution, and revenue impact.
- Conduct ongoing content audits and recommend process improvements to increase content effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Content Creation & Storytelling:
Collaborate with product marketing and subject matter experts to create high-quality content including:
- Blogs
- Technical thought leadership articles
- Case studies
- Customer stories
- Solution briefs
- Landing page copy
- E-books and White papers
Reports:
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging, audience-specific narratives. You will guide our design team and subject matter experts in the development of engaging video demos and tutorials tailored to developers, engineering leaders, technical artists, DevOps practitioners, production teams, and executive stakeholders.
- Create industry-focused content that reinforces market leadership and brand credibility, ensuring quality and consistency across channels and campaigns.
AI and Marketing Innovation:
- Leverage approved AI tools to improve content development, research, analysis, and productivity while maintaining editorial quality and accuracy.
- Apply critical thinking and human review to all AI-assisted outputs.
- Continuously evaluate emerging content marketing technologies and best practices.
AI Fluency:
Required Qualifications
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
- 4+ years of B2B content marketing experience, preferably within enterprise software, developer tools, DevOps, infrastructure software, SaaS, or technology industries.
- Proven success developing content programs that support both brand awareness and revenue growth.
- Experience partnering with product marketing, demand generation, and sales organizations.
Skills & Expertise:
- Experience translating technical subject matter into accessible and compelling content.
- Strong storytelling and content development capabilities. You should have experience working with multiple stakeholders, including technical subject matter experts, to efficiently produce content that ranks and engages in a variety of formats.
- Strong understanding of content marketing strategy, SEO fundamentals, demand generation, and customer journey mapping.
- Proficiency with analytics tools and SEO platforms (we regularly measure content performance with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and BrightEdge) .
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills (we use Hive as our project management software).
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience marketing developer-focused products or technical enterprise software.
- Experience managing and growing thought leadership programs.
- Experience managing social media and developing internal advocacy programs.
