JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for sealants and insulating glass technology assessments and executing the implementation of those materials into the Andersen product portfolio. By working closely with our internal partners and customers, this role will lead material and process development projects in the sealants and insulating glass technology areas.
This position is responsible for delivering technical solutions that delight both our internal and final customers. Projects will include: delivering sealant and insulating glass solutions that will improve the supply consistency, further improve the quality and/or performance of our products, reducing the cost of our products, and driving innovative sealants and insulating glass technology into Andersen products.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead sealants and/or insulating glass technology projects and make recommendations to stakeholders and technical leaders as to viability of solutions
- Design, execute, analyze, and report on experimental studies related to sealants and insulating glass technologies
- Independently conduct project work and coordinate activities with other engineering teams inside Andersen
- Test and validate new materials for use within a window and door product
- Provide technical support for sealants and insulating glass questions from internal and external stakeholders, technical training of internal customers, and technical specification development
- Assist with implementation of new processes in a manufacturing environment
- Drive improvement efforts through a solid understanding and application of statistical tools and interpretation of results for effective solutions (i.e., Design of Experiments, process mapping, process capability analysis, Pugh matrix, FMEA, MSA, control plans, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
- BS Chemical/Materials Science/ or similar Engineering discipline
- Experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving complex problems
- Experience with small scale project management and working with cross-functional teams
- Some working knowledge of product development principles
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and make presentations to all levels of an organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as statistical software (Minitab, JMP, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- 4 to 7 years engineering or technical experience working in material-centric product development and implementation and/or material-centric product testing
- Possesses a desire to eventually lead engineers responsible for executing a portfolio of projects
- Possesses the capabilities and desire to eventually develop a strategic vision for a material related competency and assign appropriate resources to execute that vision
- Working knowledge of sealants or adhesives with some knowledge of insulating glass, glass coatings, paints, and plastics
- Strong analytical skills and materials analysis experience
- Experience in the fenestration or related industry
PAY RANGE:
$90,039.00 - $139,561.00

PROFIT SHARING: In 2026 Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $3,600 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit Sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
