Job Summary

Momo’s Magical Moments Childcare is seeking an experienced Early Childhood Curriculum & Program Operations Specialist for our home-based childcare program in Dundalk, Maryland.

You will work directly with the owner to select and implement an appropriate curriculum, prepare meaningful learning experiences, and strengthen daily program routines. Our mixed-age program values hands-on learning, Montessori principles, independence, and outdoor exploration.

This is a temporary, part-time position lasting approximately six months, with approximately 8 paid hours per week. The hybrid schedule includes on-site observation, demonstration, and materials preparation, plus remote planning. Compensation is $30–$40 per hour, based on relevant experience and qualifications.

Duties

• Review current resources and help select or confirm a curriculum appropriate for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Explain recommendations, including developmental fit, cost, and implementation needs. Develop manageable weekly lesson plans aligned with children’s interests, developmental needs, and Maryland’s early learning standards. Incorporate Montessori principles, including practical-life activities, child choice, independence, and an organized, accessible learning environment. Plan two to three indoor extensions of outdoor exploration each month using safe, age-appropriate materials. Prepare learning materials, organize supplies, and maintain preparation and purchasing lists within an approved budget. Demonstrate activities and coach the owner through implementation, reflection, and adjustments. Help connect observations of children’s learning with future planning. Improve daily schedules, classroom routines, and planning systems. Support monthly parent newsletters and create reusable templates and simple procedures.

The first month will focus on curriculum review, establishing a weekly planning routine, and demonstrating learning experiences. Other tasks will be prioritized within the agreed paid hours.

Requirements

• Hands-on classroom experience with young children and practical experience planning and implementing early childhood learning experiences. Relevant education or training in early childhood education or child development. Ability to adapt activities for different ages and developmental abilities. Strong organization, communication, and follow-through. Ability to explain teaching decisions and provide supportive, hands-on guidance. Availability for regular on-site work in Dundalk, Maryland.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field. Experience in mixed-age family childcare. Experience with Montessori practices and nature-based learning. Familiarity with Maryland’s early learning standards. Experience coaching educators and improving childcare program systems.

Schedule

Approximately 4 hours on-site and 4 hours remotely each week, with days and times agreed upon before starting. All research, planning, preparation, and meetings count toward paid hours.
