The HVM Operations Technician will support High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) operations through coordination of daily manufacturing activities, production readiness, and operational troubleshooting. A successful HVM Operations Technician will serve as the primary operational resource for their assigned shift, supporting production execution, training and mentoring operators, maintaining inventory and material readiness, monitoring compliance with manufacturing procedures, and partnering with Engineering, Quality, EHS, and Supply Chain teams to support safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing operations. The HVM Operations Technician will support process improvements, New Product Introductions (NPI), operational investigations, and documentation improvements while promoting a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
There are three job openings; one for each of the shifts below:
- A-Shift – Sunday - Tuesday with alternating Wednesdays; 7:00am-7:30pm
- B-Shift – Thursday - Saturdays with alternating Wednesdays; 7:00am-7:30pm
- C-Shift – Monday - Thursday; 7:00pm-5:30am
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily manufacturing activities to support production schedules and operational priorities.
- Support execution of production plans by assigning work, monitoring progress, and ensuring resources are aligned with production goals.
- Serve as the primary operational resource for Operators during assigned shifts.
- Provide first-level troubleshooting support for routine production and process-related issues.
- Escalate equipment, process, quality, safety, and staffing concerns to Supervisor when necessary.
- Communicate production status, risks, and operational challenges to Supervisors and cross-functional teams.
- Support startup, shutdown, and transition activities for manufacturing operations.
- Assist Operations Supervisors with workload planning and execution of operational priorities.
- Support on the job training and qualification activities for Operator I and Operator II roles.
- Train, mentor, and coach manufacturing personnel in technical knowledge.
- Serve as a subject matter resource and facilitate knowledge transfer across shifts.
- Monitor adherence to production procedures, process instructions, and change control requirements.
- Monitor MAQ compliance for finished goods, solvent drums, and hazardous waste inventories.
- Ensure manufacturing areas remain organized, clean, and audit ready.
- Support investigations related to manufacturing deviations, nonconformances, and operational events.
- Contribute to Change Control, DRB/MRB investigations, and operational documentation activities.
- Support NPI activities and process implementation.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including duties outlined in Operator I and Operator II job descriptions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications:
- Associate degree or high school diploma (or equivalent).
- 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience serving as a technical resource, trainer, mentor, or operational lead.
- Strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience training and developing manufacturing personnel.
- Working knowledge of quality systems and change control.
- Strong teamwork and continuous improvement mindset.
- Detail-oriented and safety-minded.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without the need for employer sponsorship.
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to wear a respirator upon training/certification.
- Ability to wear standard cleanroom attire and PPE.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to move full 55-gallon drums with appropriate equipment.
- Ability to operate forklifts, drum lifters, and manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
- Ability to use a keyboard and mouse for data entry and analysis.
- 100% onsite position.
- Overtime, weekends, and holiday support will be required to support operations.
- C-Shift will be required to work overnight.
