Outside Sales Manager Jobs in Kentucky: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a outside sales manager in Kentucky?
Most outside sales manager roles in Kentucky require a bachelor's degree and several years of field sales experience, often with a history of quota achievement in a related industry. Kentucky does not issue a state license specifically for outside sales managers, so the path runs through industry credentials and employer-specific onboarding. Candidates targeting medical device or pharmaceutical sales benefit from completing manufacturer training programs or holding a relevant science degree recognized by Kentucky hiring managers.
How much do outside sales managers make in Kentucky?
Outside sales managers in Kentucky earn a median of about $128,650 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $67,690 for the lowest 10% to over $236,990 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire outside sales managers in Kentucky?
Kentucky outside sales manager roles are posted by Hibu, Spectrum, and Cleft of the Rock and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Kentucky's concentration of manufacturing, healthcare, and logistics employers means outside sales managers frequently work territories tied to distribution centers, hospital systems, and industrial facilities spread across the state.
Which Kentucky cities have the most outside sales manager jobs?
Louisville, Lexington, and Hopkinsville have the most outside sales manager openings in Kentucky. Louisville dominates due to its headquarters concentration in healthcare distribution and logistics, Lexington draws demand from its healthcare and equine industry supply chains, and Bowling Green reflects the manufacturing corridor anchored by automotive and industrial suppliers in the south-central part of the state.
Are there remote outside sales manager jobs in Kentucky?
Yes, but they're rare. Outside sales management is an inherently field-based role that requires in-person client visits and territory coverage, which limits true remote arrangements. About 67% of outside sales manager openings tied to Kentucky are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those positions typically involve national account oversight or inside-to-outside hybrid structures rather than fully remote territory work.
How can I get hired as a outside sales manager in Kentucky with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an outside sales manager role from a strong-performing inside sales or account executive position at a Kentucky employer. Companies like regional distributors in Louisville or Lexington-based healthcare firms regularly promote high-performing reps who demonstrate territory management potential. Pursuing a Certified Professional Sales Person credential and targeting associate territory manager openings at medical device or industrial equipment companies gives candidates without management experience a concrete edge.
Where can I find and apply to outside sales manager jobs in Kentucky?
You can find and apply to outside sales manager jobs in Kentucky on Migrate Mate, which lists current Kentucky openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your experience and target territory, and apply directly to those employers.
