Performance Manager Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a performance manager in Tennessee?
Most performance manager roles in Tennessee require a bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, operations management, or a related field, with some senior roles preferring a master's degree. Tennessee does not require a state-issued license for the general performance manager role, but candidates in healthcare settings often benefit from a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality credential or a Lean Six Sigma certification. Building experience in analytics, project coordination, or department supervision at a Tennessee employer is the most direct path into the role.
Which companies hire performance managers in Tennessee?
Employers hiring performance managers in Tennessee right now include Amazon, HealthStream, and Schneider Electric, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Tennessee's concentration of large healthcare systems, logistics firms, and automotive manufacturers means demand for performance managers is distributed across multiple high-volume industries rather than confined to a single sector.
Which Tennessee cities have the most performance manager jobs?
Nashville, Franklin, and Chattanooga have the most performance manager openings in Tennessee. Nashville drives the largest share of demand through its dominant healthcare and corporate headquarters presence, while Memphis reflects strong logistics and supply chain hiring anchored by major distribution operations, and Knoxville draws activity from its manufacturing base and regional health systems.
Are there remote performance manager jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, and they represent a meaningful share of openings because performance management in analytical, financial, and corporate settings translates well to remote work. About 26% of performance manager openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with the fully remote roles concentrated in data-heavy or corporate strategy functions. Roles tied to clinical operations or shop-floor manufacturing are typically on-site.
How can I get hired as a performance manager in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a performance manager role from an analyst, coordinator, or quality improvement specialist position within a Tennessee employer. Large Tennessee health systems like Vanderbilt University Medical Center and HCA Healthcare regularly hire performance improvement coordinators and quality analysts as entry-level roles that feed into manager tracks. Building a portfolio of process improvement projects and completing a Lean or Six Sigma certification strengthens your candidacy considerably when applying without direct managerial experience.
Where can I find and apply to performance manager jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to performance manager jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and target location, and apply directly to the listings that fit.
