ABOUT THE ROLE

The Principal Cloud Engineer serves as the highest-level technical authority for Azure architecture within Stanley Martin Homes. This role defines landing zone architecture, governance frameworks, identity integration, and infrastructure automation standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Cloud Architecture & Governance:

- Design and implement Azure landing zones
- Establish identity, networking, and security integrations
- Define governance and cost control frameworks

Automation & Modernization:

- Implement infrastructure-as-code standards
- Lead migration initiatives from hybrid to cloud
- Optimize cloud performance and cost

Technical Leadership:

- Mentor engineers
- Define cloud engineering standards
- Serve as an escalation point for complex cloud challenges
- Represent the company professionally in all internal and external interactions and communications
- Complete all other duties as assigned by manager
- Adhere to company safety standards and help promote a safe working environment
- Adhere to and promote our Mission, Vision, and Values of Stanley Martin

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

- 8–12+ years of infrastructure experience
- Deep Azure architecture expertise
- Strong experience with IaC (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, etc.)
- Enterprise-scale cloud governance experience
- Strong networking and identity integration knowledge
