Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department Information
Our faculty includes renowned researchers and expert practitioners in three complementary fields: Economics, Finance, and Business Analytics. Students can design their education to align with their goals, selecting from applied and theoretical coursework across these three fields to prepare for their future careers. Outside of the classroom, we have many opportunities for students, including portfolio research in our award-winning Student Managed Investment Fund, faculty mentored research through our Bagwell Center for the Study of Markets and Economic Opportunity, and policy and consulting work through our Economics of Education Center. Alumni have placed in prestigious jobs in industry, government, and graduate fellowships.
Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Finance in the Department of Economics, Finance, and Quantitative Analysis with a preferred start date of August 2027. This is a nine-month contracted position and is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Please be advised that any offer of employment is contingent upon your eligibility to work in the United States. Kennesaw State University's ability to cover visa petitions is subject to budgetary constraints and USG funding policies.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in Finance for the BBA, MBA, and PhD in Business Administration programs, as appropriate.
- Supervise doctoral students and serve on doctoral dissertation committees as appropriate.
- Conduct research in Finance or related fields, leading to high-quality publications. Areas of particular departmental interest include behavioral finance, financial decision making, artificial intelligence in finance, machine learning applications in finance, financial analytics, financial technology (FinTech), and related areas.
- Engage in professional service activities that support the department, college, university, and profession.
- Contribute to student success through advising, mentoring, and other student-engagement activities.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
An earned doctorate, or the foreign equivalent, in Finance or a related discipline is required at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Evidence of research potential in Finance or related fields.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness or potential for excellence in teaching Finance at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
