Real Estate Manager Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a real estate manager in Tennessee?
Most real estate manager roles in Tennessee require or prefer an active Tennessee real estate license, issued through the Tennessee Real Estate Commission. To obtain it, candidates complete required pre-licensing education, pass the state exam, and register with the Commission. Many employers also value a Certified Property Manager designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management. A bachelor's degree in business, real estate, or finance strengthens most applications.
How much do real estate managers make in Tennessee?
Real estate managers in Tennessee earn a median of about $64,870 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $40,680 for the lowest 10% to over $119,900 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire real estate managers in Tennessee?
Employers hiring real estate managers in Tennessee right now include Choice Homes, Be One Team, and Marcus & Millichap, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Tennessee's mix of corporate headquarters, large retail anchors, and growing healthcare systems means real estate management roles appear across a wide range of industries beyond traditional property firms.
Which Tennessee cities have the most real estate manager jobs?
Nashville, Memphis, and Brentwood have the most real estate manager openings in Tennessee. Nashville's rapid commercial development and corporate relocation activity drive the highest volume of postings, while Memphis draws demand from its logistics and distribution sector, and Knoxville reflects growth tied to the University of Tennessee system and regional retail expansion.
Are there remote real estate manager jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, but they're rare. Real estate manager work is largely site-dependent, involving property inspections, tenant relations, and on-site vendor oversight that require physical presence. About 67% of real estate manager openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to focus on portfolio analysis, lease administration, or corporate real estate strategy rather than hands-on building management.
How can I get hired as a real estate manager in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as an assistant property manager or leasing coordinator with a Tennessee-based commercial real estate firm or a corporate real estate department at a large employer like a healthcare system or retailer. Obtaining a Tennessee affiliate broker license early signals seriousness to hiring managers. Large property management companies operating in Nashville and Memphis regularly bring on coordinators without deep experience and develop them into full management roles.
Where can I find and apply to real estate manager jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to real estate manager jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville, and other Tennessee markets. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
