Tips for Your Remote Insurance Sales Representative Job Search
Get your state license before applying
Most remote insurance sales roles require a resident or non-resident state license before you start. Having an active P&C, life, or health license in hand removes the biggest screening hurdle remote employers use to cut applicants early.
Show your CRM and pipeline management skills
Remote insurance sales managers can't watch you work, so they hire on systems. Name the CRM platforms you've used, describe how you track follow-ups and renewals, and call out any pipeline metrics you've hit. Salesforce, HubSpot, and Agency Zoom come up most often in remote insurance postings.
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote insurance sales representative openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your license type and experience level and apply directly without sorting through non-remote listings.
Build a home office you can describe confidently
Remote insurance sales interviews almost always include questions about your workspace. Be ready to describe your internet speed, headset or phone setup, and how you handle noise and distractions. Employers want to know you can run client calls professionally from day one.
Remote Insurance Sales Representative Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote insurance sales representative job?
Target remote-first carriers, independent agencies, and insurtech companies that have built distributed sales teams rather than traditional office-based shops. Remote insurance employers screen heavily for self-direction, written communication, and the ability to run a full sales cycle without in-person supervision. A current state insurance license, demonstrated pipeline management through a CRM, and a home office setup you can describe confidently all give you a real edge.
Which companies hire remote insurance sales representatives?
Employers currently hiring remote insurance sales representatives include The Gainey Agency, Farmers Insurance, and Pioneer Agency, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Remote hiring for this role is concentrated at national carriers, insurtech platforms, and independent agencies that have replaced regional offices with distributed sales forces.
Can you get a remote insurance sales representative job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry roles are harder to land than in-office ones because you must demonstrate self-direction before you have a work record that proves it. Insurtech startups and independent marketing organizations are the most open to entry-level remote candidates. Showing a state pre-licensing certificate, completing a free CRM course, and being specific about your home office setup can substitute for direct experience when applying.
Do you need a degree for remote insurance sales representative jobs?
Not always. Remote insurance employers care far more about a valid state insurance license, verifiable sales results, and CRM proficiency than a college credential. Many carriers and agencies hire without a degree when a candidate can show a history of meeting quotas, managing a book of business, or closing in a phone or video-based environment.
Which industries hire the most remote insurance sales representatives?
Remote insurance sales representative roles concentrate in Insurance and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. These sectors rely on distributed sales teams because the entire sales cycle, from prospecting through policy delivery, can run fully over phone, video, and digital platforms without requiring a shared office.
