Security Sales Engineer Jobs in Arkansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a security sales engineer in Arkansas?
Most security sales engineers in Arkansas start with a degree in information technology, electrical engineering, or computer science, then build credentials through certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco certifications, or manufacturer-specific programs from vendors like Axis or Genetec. Arkansas does not require a state-issued license for the sales engineering role itself, though roles that include physical security system installation may fall under Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board requirements. Employers typically value a combination of technical training and two or more years in a related technical or sales support role.
How much do security sales engineers make in Arkansas?
Security sales engineers in Arkansas earn a median of about $130,760 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,720 for the lowest 10% to over $151,610 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire security sales engineers in Arkansas?
Companies currently hiring security sales engineers in Arkansas include Walmart, CVS Health, and Ritter Communications, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Arkansas's large retail, poultry processing, and telecommunications industries create consistent demand for security solution expertise at both the enterprise and mid-market level.
Which Arkansas cities have the most security sales engineer jobs?
Bentonville and Little Rock account for the most security sales engineer openings in Arkansas. Little Rock drives the largest share as the state capital and commercial center, with significant demand from healthcare systems, state agencies, and financial services firms, while Fayetteville and Fort Smith generate steady openings through their manufacturing, logistics, and university-linked technology sectors.
Are there remote security sales engineer jobs in Arkansas?
Yes, though they represent a smaller share of openings because the role typically involves on-site client visits, system demonstrations, and territory coverage. About 0% of security sales engineer openings tied to Arkansas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to be pre-sales or inside-sales engineering positions focused on proposal development, virtual demos, and technical support rather than field work.
How can I get hired as a security sales engineer in Arkansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into the role from an adjacent position such as IT support technician, security systems installer, or account development representative at a systems integrator or managed security provider. Arkansas-based employers like regional integrators and telecom companies often bring on associate or junior sales engineers who hold a relevant certification and have client-facing experience, even if it comes from help desk or field technician work. Earning a CompTIA Security+ certification before applying signals technical readiness and gives candidates a concrete edge in a competitive applicant pool.
