Senior Marketing Strategist Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior marketing strategist in New York?
Senior marketing strategist roles in New York do not require a state-issued license, but employers consistently expect a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or business, plus several years of progressively responsible marketing experience. New York hiring managers favor candidates who have worked within the city's advertising, media, or financial services industries. Building a portfolio of campaign results, earning platform certifications from Google or HubSpot, and gaining experience at a New York agency or in-house brand team are the most direct paths into senior-level roles.
How much do senior marketing strategists make in New York?
Senior marketing strategists in New York earn a median of about $181,200 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $104,140 for the lowest 10% to over $324,310 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior marketing strategists in New York?
Employers hiring senior marketing strategists in New York right now include Apply, Vigo, and Photon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New York's concentration of global advertising agencies, major media companies, and Fortune 500 headquarters means consistent senior-level demand across both agency and in-house environments.
Which New York cities have the most senior marketing strategist jobs?
The most senior marketing strategist openings in New York are in New York, Queensbury, and Schenectady. New York City dominates the distribution given its concentration of advertising agencies, media conglomerates, financial institutions, and consumer brand headquarters, while surrounding markets like White Plains and Albany reflect demand from regional corporate offices and state government-adjacent organizations.
Are there remote senior marketing strategist jobs in New York?

The most realistic entry path is through a marketing coordinator or assistant account executive role at a New York agency or in-house brand team, where you build campaign exposure directly. Large New York employers such as WPP, Omnicom, and major financial institutions run formal rotational programs and associate marketing tracks aimed at recent graduates. Moving laterally from roles in market research, copywriting, or project management is also common. A Google Analytics certification or a strong portfolio of campaign projects gives candidates without years of experience a concrete edge in New York interviews.
