Technology Intern Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a technology intern in Colorado?
The most direct path is enrolling in a computer science, information technology, or engineering program at a Colorado college or university, then applying to internships during your sophomore or junior year. Colorado has no state-issued license required for technology intern roles. Employers in Denver and Boulder typically recruit through campus career fairs, university co-op programs, and direct applications, so connecting with your school's career center early gives you a concrete advantage.
Which companies hire technology interns in Colorado?
Colorado technology intern roles are posted by Spectrum, Ovintiv, and Protiviti and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Colorado's mix of aerospace contractors, software firms, and federal agency satellite offices means internship opportunities exist well beyond the traditional tech startup pipeline.
Which Colorado cities have the most technology intern jobs?
Denver, Greenwood Village, and Golden have the most technology intern openings in Colorado. Denver leads because of its dense concentration of tech companies, aerospace contractors, and corporate headquarters, while Boulder's strong university presence and startup ecosystem drive consistent intern demand, and Colorado Springs supports a large number of defense and government technology employers.
Are there remote technology intern jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 100% of technology intern openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves software, data, and cloud tools that translate well to distributed teams. Roles focused on software development and data analysis tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while IT support and hardware-adjacent positions are more likely to require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a technology intern in Colorado with little or no experience?
Building a small portfolio of personal or academic projects is the single most effective entry path with no prior experience. Colorado employers like Lockheed Martin and Ball Corporation run structured new-grad and intern programs that are explicitly designed for students with classroom knowledge but no professional history. Adjacent roles such as IT help desk or technical support associate at Colorado universities or local government agencies also serve as realistic stepping stones, and earning a recognized cloud or cybersecurity certification noticeably strengthens an application.
Where can I find and apply to technology intern jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to technology intern jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current Colorado openings updated regularly. Search the listings, identify the roles that match your skills and schedule, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
