Human Resources Intern Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a human resources intern in Colorado?
Most human resources intern roles in Colorado require active enrollment in a bachelor's program in human resources, business administration, or organizational psychology, though some positions accept recent graduates. Colorado does not require a state license to work as an HR intern, but pursuing SHRM student membership or coursework aligned with SHRM-CP exam preparation strengthens applications. Employers in the Denver metro and Colorado Springs corridors often list internships through university career centers at CU Boulder, Colorado State University, and the University of Denver.
Which companies hire human resources interns in Colorado?
Companies currently hiring human resources interns in Colorado include Quantinuum, Kroger, and Highgate, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Colorado's mix of large defense contractors, regional healthcare networks, and technology firms creates consistent intern demand across a broad range of industries and HR function areas.
Which Colorado cities have the most human resources intern jobs?
Denver, Aurora, and Broomfield have the most human resources intern openings in Colorado. Denver drives the largest share of listings due to its concentration of corporate headquarters, healthcare systems, and professional services firms, while Boulder's technology and life sciences sector and Colorado Springs' defense and government contracting base generate steady additional demand in those metros.
Are there remote human resources intern jobs in Colorado?
Yes, though they're less common than for fully desk-based roles, since many HR intern tasks involve on-site onboarding support, in-person employee interactions, and physical document handling. About 100% of human resources intern openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting a growing willingness among larger employers to allow partial flexibility. Recruiting coordination, HRIS data entry, and HR analytics projects tend to be the functions most often assigned to remote or hybrid interns.
How can I get hired as a human resources intern in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly through university intern programs before completing your degree, particularly the structured HR internship pipelines run by large Colorado employers such as Lockheed Martin Space, UCHealth, and Xcel Energy, which regularly bring in candidates with no prior HR experience. Lateral entry from adjacent roles such as office coordinator, administrative assistant, or customer service representative at Colorado-based companies is also a proven path. Completing SHRM's student membership program and earning a basic HR certificate through Colorado community colleges adds a credential that moves applications forward without requiring prior work history.
Where can I find and apply to human resources intern jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to human resources intern jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current Colorado openings updated in real time. Search for roles that match your availability, preferred location, and the HR functions you want to develop, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
