Territory Sales Manager - Architectural Surfaces
Skinrock West | Greater Salt Lake Area, Utah
Base Salary + Uncapped Commission
Skinrock West is looking for an energetic, experienced sales professional to develop the Greater Salt Lake market for Skinrock, an innovative natural stone surfacing product serving the architecture, design and construction industries. This is not a traditional account-maintenance role. We are looking for a market builder and strong sales closer who can create opportunities, develop relationships and turn those opportunities into profitable revenue.
The ideal candidate comes from the stone, tile, architectural surfaces or related building-materials industry, understands how these products are specified and installed, and already has relationships within the Utah design and construction community.
The Opportunity
Skinrock West is in growth and startup mode. We are introducing a distinctive natural stone product to architects, designers, builders, contractors and dealers throughout the region.
The person who joins us will have an opportunity to help build the market rather than simply inherit an established territory. The role offers a base salary plus uncapped commission, creating meaningful upside for someone who can successfully develop and close business.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment, takes ownership of the territory and is motivated by building something.
What You Will Do
- Develop relationships with stone and tile dealers, showrooms and other channel partners.
- Build relationships with architects, interior designers, builders, contractors and developers.
- Identify projects and pursue opportunities from initial introduction through specification, quotation and close.
- Actively prospect for new accounts and projects while developing repeat business from existing relationships.
- Conduct Lunch & Learns, product workshops and product knowledge presentations for architecture and design firms.
- Conduct dealer product training and help dealer sales teams successfully present and sell Skinrock.
- Educate customers on product applications, installation methods, adhesives, preparation and other technical considerations.
- Work with architects and designers to get Skinrock considered and specified on projects.
- Develop relationships with builders and contractors and help move specified projects through the construction process.
- Follow up consistently and persistently on opportunities while maintaining a professional, consultative approach.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and manage opportunities through the company's CRM.
- Represent Skinrock West professionally at industry events, dealer events, trade shows and customer meetings.
- Most importantly, close business and generate profitable sales growth.
Who We Are Looking For
Proven success selling stone, tile, architectural surfaces or related building materials.
Existing relationships within the Wasatch Front stone/tile, dealer, architecture and design, builder or contractor community.
Strong understanding of stone and tile installation practices.
Experience selling through both dealer/channel relationships and directly to design and construction professionals.
The technical confidence to conduct product demonstrations, workshops, Lunch & Learns and dealer training.
A demonstrated ability to prospect, develop opportunities, negotiate and close sales.
High energy and a strong sense of personal accountability.
Excellent relationship-building and presentation skills.
The ability to work independently without requiring constant direction.
Comfort working in a growing company where processes and opportunities are still being developed.
Strong personal integrity and a collaborative approach to working with customers and teammates.
What Matters Most
Industry knowledge and relationships are important, but we are ultimately looking for a salesperson who knows how to close.
The right person combines technical credibility with architects, designers, dealers and contractors with the persistence and sales discipline necessary to move opportunities forward.
You should be someone who sees an emerging product and an undeveloped market as an opportunity rather than an obstacle.
Compensation
Base salary + uncapped commission.
There is no commission ceiling. We want compensation to reward successful territory development and profitable sales growth. For the right salesperson who builds the Greater Salt Lake market, the income potential can be significant.

Territory Sales Manager Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a territory sales manager in Utah?
Most territory sales managers in Utah enter through a combination of a bachelor's degree in business or a related field and two or more years of outside or B2B sales experience. Utah does not require a state-issued license for most territory sales manager roles, though medical device or pharmaceutical positions may require manufacturer or industry-specific credentialing. Employers in Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Front often promote from inside sales or account executive roles into territory management.
How much do territory sales managers make in Utah?
Territory sales managers in Utah earn a median of about $136,520 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $72,800 for the lowest 10% to over $253,390 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire territory sales managers in Utah?
Employers hiring territory sales managers in Utah right now include LaserAway, Bosch, and Ernest, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Utah's concentration of technology companies along the Silicon Slopes corridor and its large medical device and health services sector make it one of the more active states for this role.
Which Utah cities have the most territory sales manager jobs?
The cities with the most territory sales manager openings in Utah are Salt Lake City, Utah, and Ogden. Salt Lake City anchors most of the volume because of its density of corporate headquarters, distribution hubs, and health system campuses, while Provo benefits from the Silicon Slopes technology cluster and Orem's growing life sciences presence, and St. George draws openings tied to construction materials and regional retail expansion in southern Utah.
Are there remote territory sales manager jobs in Utah?
Yes, but they're rare. Territory sales manager work is inherently field-based, requiring in-person client visits and on-site relationship management, which limits fully remote arrangements. About 87% of territory sales manager openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to be roles where the employer allows home-office administrative work between client visits rather than fully eliminating field time.
How can I get hired as a territory sales manager in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an inside sales or sales development representative role at a Utah employer, which builds the pipeline management and customer communication skills hiring managers look for before promoting into a territory. Large Utah employers in technology and medical devices, including those along the Wasatch Front, regularly post associate or junior territory rep openings that do not require prior territory ownership. Completing a CRM certification and building a measurable record of quota attainment in any sales role strengthens an application significantly.
Where can I find and apply to territory sales manager jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to territory sales manager jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your experience and target territory, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
