INTRODUCTION
Strategic technical lead of multidisciplinary team, comprised of Offsite Manufacturing (OSM) Application Engineers (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural) and Designers, to develop and engineer offsite manufacturing scope for complex construction projects. Oversee design, engineering, and coordination of offsite manufactured systems and ensure seamless integration into projects across various company sectors.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and mentor team of xPL Offsite Manufacturing (OSM) Application Engineers (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural) and Designers fostering a collaborative, engaged, and high-performing team culture.
- Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to support team growth and development.
- Develop workforce development plan, track team assignments, and allocate resources to achieve project commitments.
- Lead strategic development and engineering plans of OSM scope for complex projects, oversee designs meet client specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards within healthcare, data centers, semiconductor, Electric Volt (EV) battery, and advanced manufacturing sectors.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders (e.g., Architects, Contractors, Clients, others) to define OSM requirements for integration with onsite construction processes.
- Provide expert-level technical guidance on mechanical, electrical, and structural systems to produce robust and efficient OSM solutions.
- Review and approve 3D models, simulations, and designs created for accuracy and constructability.
- Drive continuous improvement in OSM design and engineering workflows, leverage advanced tools and technologies to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Encourage team to contribute to development and implementation of best practices for OSM design, prefabrication, and assembly to reduce costs, timelines, and environmental impact.
- Stay up to date on OSM design and engineering industry trends, materials, and technologies to maintain competitive edge in OSM delivery.
- Coordinate with project managers to align and embed OSM deliverables with overall project schedules and budgets.
- Oversee compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including local building codes and industry-specific requirements.
- Manage risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for OSM components during design, fabrication, and installation phases.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders regarding OSM engineering and design deliverables.
- Present technical solutions and progress updates to clients to confirm alignment with project goals and expectations.
- Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from accredited degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or Civil Engineering, or related field of study; Master’s Degree or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, a plus; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required; and with minimum of 7 years of experience in Engineering, with at least 3 years in leadership or managerial role.
- Proven experience in offsite manufacturing, modular construction, or prefabrication for complex projects (e.g., Healthcare, Data Centers, Semiconductor, Electric Voltage (EV) Battery, or advanced manufacturing preferred).
- Strategic leader with strong technical expertise, project management skills, and passion for driving innovation.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and structural systems design and engineering in construction.
- Hands-on experience with Revit, Inventor, Navisworks, or similar BIM and 3D modeling software.
- Proficient in BIM workflows, clash detection, and coordination using Navisworks.
- Familiar with continuous improvement concepts, methodology, practices and construction principles, DfMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly), and sustainable construction practices.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across organizational levels and with Clients, Architects, and Engineers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Limited travel.
