Which accounting companies sponsor visas in Arkansas?
Major visa sponsors include Walmart (corporate accounting), Tyson Foods (financial reporting), Murphy Oil (petroleum accounting), and Grant Thornton's Little Rock office. Regional firms like BKD and Stephens Inc. also sponsor H-1B visas for specialized roles like tax specialists, audit managers, and financial analysts with CPA credentials.
Which cities in Arkansas have the most accounting sponsorship jobs?
Little Rock leads with corporate headquarters and regional accounting firms, followed by Bentonville (Walmart's home base) for retail accounting roles. Fayetteville offers university-connected opportunities, while Fort Smith has manufacturing accounting positions. These four cities account for roughly 80% of Arkansas's visa sponsorship opportunities in accounting.
How to find accounting visa sponsorship jobs in Arkansas?
Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Arkansas-based accounting positions with confirmed visa sponsorship. Focus on corporate roles at Walmart, Tyson Foods, and regional CPA firms that have established H-1B filing histories. Target positions requiring CPA certification or specialized experience in retail, agriculture, or energy accounting.
Which visa types are most common for accounting roles in Arkansas?
H-1B visas dominate for accounting positions, especially for CPA-qualified professionals in audit, tax, and financial reporting roles. TN visas work for Canadian and Mexican accountants with bachelor's degrees. O-1 visas are rare but possible for internationally recognized accounting experts or those with specialized petroleum or agricultural accounting expertise.
What are prevailing wage considerations for accounting jobs in Arkansas?
Arkansas prevailing wages for accounting positions typically fall below national averages, which can make H-1B petitions more straightforward to file. Little Rock and Northwest Arkansas command higher wages due to corporate concentration. CPA certification significantly impacts wage determinations, often pushing salaries above prevailing wage thresholds for successful visa applications.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored accounting jobs in Arkansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
