Which aerospace and defense companies sponsor H-1B visas in Arkansas?
Dassault Falcon Jet, headquartered at Little Rock's Clinton National Airport, is one of the most active aerospace employers in Arkansas and has a history of H-1B sponsorship for engineering and technical roles. Smaller defense contractors and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) firms operating in the Fort Smith and Little Rock areas also sponsor H-1B workers, primarily for engineering and quality assurance positions.
Which cities in Arkansas have the most aerospace and defense H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Little Rock is the primary hub, driven by Dassault Falcon Jet's operations at Clinton National Airport and supporting aerospace services firms in the area. Fort Smith is a secondary concentration point, with defense-adjacent manufacturing and supplier companies. Fayetteville and the broader Northwest Arkansas corridor also see some activity, particularly from defense contractors with regional offices tied to larger national programs.
What types of aerospace and defense roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Arkansas?
Roles that consistently qualify as H-1B specialty occupations in aerospace and defense include aerospace engineers, avionics systems engineers, structural engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality assurance engineers, and software engineers working on embedded or defense systems. These positions require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science, which satisfies the specialty occupation standard.
How do I find aerospace and defense H-1B sponsorship jobs in Arkansas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers who need H-1B sponsorship, and you can filter directly by visa type, industry, and state to surface aerospace and defense roles in Arkansas. Because sponsorship willingness is not always advertised on general job postings, using a platform like Migrate Mate that focuses on verified sponsoring employers saves significant time compared to searching broadly and vetting each employer individually.
Are there any Arkansas-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in aerospace and defense?
Many aerospace and defense roles in Arkansas involve work on government contracts, which can introduce security clearance requirements. H-1B visa holders are generally eligible to apply for certain clearance levels, but the process is more complex and not guaranteed, particularly for higher-level clearances. Candidates should clarify clearance requirements with employers early, as this factor can affect both hiring timelines and long-term role eligibility independent of H-1B approval.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B aerospace & defense jobs in Arkansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
