Which healthcare companies sponsor H-1B visas in Arkansas?
The most active H-1B visa sponsors in Arkansas healthcare include the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), Arkansas Children's Hospital, Baptist Health, CHI St. Vincent, and Mercy Hospital. Academic medical centers and large nonprofit hospital systems file the most H-1B petitions because they have dedicated HR and legal infrastructure to manage the process. Smaller rural clinics and private practices rarely sponsor.
Which cities in Arkansas have the most healthcare H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Little Rock accounts for the majority of healthcare H-1B activity in Arkansas, anchored by UAMS, Arkansas Children's Hospital, and multiple Baptist Health facilities. Fayetteville and Springdale in the northwest corridor are growing markets, driven by expansion from Mercy and Washington Regional Medical Center. Fort Smith and Jonesboro have a smaller but consistent volume of openings, particularly for physicians and specialty care providers.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Arkansas?
Roles that require at minimum a U.S. bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in a specific specialty field qualify as H-1B specialty occupations. In Arkansas healthcare, this typically includes physicians, surgeons, psychiatrists, pharmacists, physical therapists, clinical laboratory scientists, and medical researchers. Registered nursing positions can qualify in some circumstances but face additional scrutiny, since the specialty occupation standard requires the employer to demonstrate the role routinely requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field.
How do I find healthcare H-1B sponsorship jobs in Arkansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa type and state, making it straightforward to browse verified healthcare H-1B sponsorship roles in Arkansas without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by city or role type to focus on UAMS, Arkansas Children's Hospital, or other major systems actively filing H-1B petitions. Searching by industry and visa type together significantly reduces time spent on unqualified listings.
Are there any Arkansas-specific considerations for healthcare H-1B sponsorship?
Arkansas has a federally designated physician shortage in many rural counties, which leads some healthcare employers to explore both H-1B sponsorship and the Conrad 30 J-1 visa waiver program as parallel pathways for foreign-trained physicians. For H-1B purposes, employers must still file a Labor Condition Application certifying prevailing wage compliance regardless of location. Applicants should confirm that any Arkansas employer is registered with USCIS and has prior H-1B filing history before accepting an offer contingent on sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B healthcare jobs in Arkansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
