Which consulting companies sponsor E-3 visas in California?
The Big Four accounting and consulting firms (Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG) and major management consultancies including McKinsey, Bain, and Accenture have California offices that have historically filed E-3 petitions. Boutique technology and strategy consultancies in the San Francisco Bay Area also sponsor E-3 visas, particularly for roles in data analytics, management consulting, and IT advisory where a specific bachelor's degree is required.
Which cities in California have the most consulting E-3 sponsorship jobs?
San Francisco and Silicon Valley lead California for consulting E-3 sponsorship, driven by the concentration of technology companies that rely heavily on management and IT consulting services. Los Angeles has a significant presence in financial and entertainment-sector consulting, while San Jose attracts technology strategy and operations consulting roles. Sacramento has a smaller but active market centered on government affairs and policy consulting.
What types of consulting roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship applies to specialty occupations, meaning the role must normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. In consulting, this typically covers management consulting, strategy analysis, financial advisory, IT consulting, and data analytics positions. General project coordinator or sales-oriented consulting roles that accept any degree field are less likely to meet the specialty occupation standard under USCIS guidelines.
How do I find consulting E-3 sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by E-3 visa type, the consulting and professional services industry, and California as the location to surface roles where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness. This is more targeted than a general job search because results are filtered for international candidates seeking E-3 sponsorship, saving considerable time when approaching California-based consulting firms.
Are there any California-specific considerations for E-3 consulting sponsorship?
California's prevailing wage requirements under the Labor Condition Application process tend to reflect the state's higher cost of living, so employers filing LCAs in San Francisco or Los Angeles must certify wages at levels that meet Department of Labor prevailing wage determinations for those metropolitan areas. California also has strong worker protections that apply regardless of visa status, and some consulting firms use a project-based staffing model that can affect how E-3 petitions are structured.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 consulting jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
