Which e-commerce companies in California sponsor E-3 visas?
Several large e-commerce and marketplace companies operating in California have sponsored E-3 visas, including Amazon (with offices in Los Angeles and the Bay Area), eBay (headquartered in San Jose), and Shopify (with a significant U.S. presence in California). Logistics-focused e-commerce firms and direct-to-consumer brands based in LA and San Francisco also appear in E-3 sponsorship records, though sponsorship willingness varies by role and hiring cycle.
Which California cities have the most e-commerce E-3 sponsorship jobs?
The San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles account for the largest concentration of e-commerce E-3 sponsorship roles in California. San Jose and San Francisco host marketplace and platform companies, while Los Angeles is a hub for direct-to-consumer brands, influencer commerce, and fashion e-commerce. San Diego has a smaller but growing presence, particularly in subscription commerce and retail technology.
What types of e-commerce roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in California?
Roles that typically qualify are those requiring a specific bachelor's degree relevant to the position, consistent with the E-3 specialty occupation requirement. In e-commerce, this commonly includes software engineering, data analytics, UX and product design, digital marketing management, and supply chain or logistics technology roles. Generalist or entry-level operations roles that accept any degree field face more difficulty meeting the specialty occupation standard.
How do I find e-commerce E-3 sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type (E-3), industry (e-commerce), and state (California) to see current openings from employers who have a history of sponsoring E-3 visas. This saves significant time compared to manually researching which California e-commerce companies are open to sponsorship, and the listings are updated regularly to reflect active hiring.
Are there California-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in e-commerce?
California's strong worker protection laws and high cost of living influence how employers structure roles and salaries, which feeds into the prevailing wage requirement your employer must meet on the Labor Condition Application. California also has a dense concentration of venture-backed e-commerce startups that may be less familiar with E-3 sponsorship processes than large established employers, so it's worth confirming a company's sponsorship experience before investing significant time in an application.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 e-commerce jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
