Senior Technical Recruiter (San Francisco, CA)
Reporting to the VP, Talent Acquisition and Technology, you'll own full-cycle technical recruiting for some of the most impactful roles at MrBeast — spanning software engineering, data science, machine learning, product, and technical operations. You'll work directly with engineering managers, senior ICs, and leadership to translate ambitious technical roadmaps into real hires, quickly and thoughtfully. This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys complexity, moves with urgency, and is genuinely excited about recruiting at a company that looks nothing like a traditional tech employer — but competes for the same talent.
What You’ll Do
Own Technical Hiring End-to-End:
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for engineering, data science, ML, product, and technical operations roles.
- Partner with hiring managers and technical leads to define what "great" actually looks like for each role, beyond the job spec.
- Design and run tight, well-structured interview processes that assess both technical depth and the judgment required to thrive here.
- Close candidates by clearly articulating the scale, ownership, and unique impact of what we're building.
Find Technical Talent in Unconventional Places:
- Proactively source engineers, data scientists, and technical PMs using advanced sourcing techniques across LinkedIn, GitHub, and niche technical communities.
- Build pipelines for roles that require both technical rigor and the ability to operate in a fast-moving, creative organization.
- Identify talent before they're looking. Tap into open source contributors, hackathon networks, and technical communities tied to our product areas.
- Stay current on trends in AI/ML, content tech, and digital products to credibly engage top technical candidates.
Be a Strategic Partner to Technical Leaders:
- Act as a trusted advisor to engineering and product managers, delivering honest market feedback and competitive intelligence on technical talent.
- Help technical leaders make confident, fast hiring decisions and bring structure without bureaucracy.
- Translate roadmap priorities into hiring strategies, and flag risks before they become blockers.
- Balance speed, quality, and culture alignment as the company's technical direction continues to evolve.
Build Technical Recruiting for Scale:
- Develop and improve technical interview frameworks, assessment approaches, and hiring rubrics as teams grow.
- Introduce consistency and rigor without slowing down the teams you serve.
- Use data, pattern recognition, and sound judgment to continuously raise the bar — and help others do the same.
- Help build a recruiting function that can scale with the company's technical ambitions.
What You’ll Bring
- 5–8+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, ideally within high-growth tech companies, media tech, or startups scaling engineering teams.
- A strong track record of hiring senior engineers, data scientists, ML practitioners, and technical product managers in competitive markets.
- Exceptional technical sourcing skills — fluent in GitHub, LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean, and non-traditional sourcing strategies for hard-to-find profiles.
- Enough technical literacy to have credible conversations with engineers about their work, assess role-fit signals, and evaluate candidate quality beyond a resume.
- Comfort with ambiguity, fast-changing priorities, and leaders who think big and move fast.
- Strong instincts for talent, potential, and cultural alignment and not just credentials and tenure.
- Clear communicator, strong closer, and someone who takes real pride in the caliber of the teams they help build.
- Genuine curiosity about creator platforms, content technology, audience-scale products, and building things people actually care about.

Which media and entertainment companies in California sponsor E-3 visas?
Major studios and streaming platforms with a significant California presence, including Netflix, Walt Disney Studios, Warner Bros. Discovery, NBCUniversal, Sony Pictures, and Paramount, have sponsored E-3 visas for qualifying roles. Smaller production companies and digital media firms also sponsor, though less consistently. Sponsorship willingness varies by role, team, and hiring cycle, so it is worth confirming with each employer directly during the application process.
Which cities in California have the most media and entertainment E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Los Angeles and its surrounding areas account for the large majority of media and entertainment E-3 sponsorship jobs in California. Burbank, Culver City, and Santa Monica host major studio and streaming headquarters. San Francisco and the broader Bay Area offer opportunities in digital media, gaming, and streaming technology. Outside these clusters, media and entertainment E-3 sponsorship jobs are considerably less common.
What types of media and entertainment roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship applies to specialty occupations, meaning roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific related field. In media and entertainment, qualifying roles commonly include software engineers working on streaming infrastructure, digital marketing managers, UX and product designers, entertainment lawyers, financial analysts, and post-production supervisors with technical degree requirements. On-set production assistant roles or positions that do not require a specific degree typically do not qualify.
How do I find media and entertainment E-3 sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals seeking E-3 visa sponsorship and lists media and entertainment roles in California where employers have an established history of sponsoring international talent. Filtering by state, visa type, and industry on Migrate Mate narrows results to relevant opportunities and removes the guesswork of identifying which employers are open to E-3 candidates. Applying directly to companies with prior sponsorship history significantly improves your chances of advancing through the process.
Are there any California-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in media and entertainment?
California's entertainment industry operates on a mix of full-time staff roles and project-based contracts. E-3 visa holders must have a legitimate employer-employee relationship, so short-term freelance or day-rate engagements generally do not support an E-3 application. California also has strong union structures in film and television, and some guild agreements may affect how roles are structured. Australian professionals should confirm that any offer meets the E-3 requirement for a genuine, ongoing employment arrangement before beginning the sponsorship process.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 media & entertainment jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
