Which medical device companies in Connecticut sponsor visas?
Major visa sponsors include Medtronic (Danbury), Boston Scientific (Marlborough), Stryker (Mahwah operations serving CT), and smaller firms like Cantel Medical. These companies regularly sponsor H-1B visas for engineering, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and clinical research positions. Many have established sponsorship programs due to specialized talent needs.
What visa types are most common for medical device jobs in Connecticut?
H-1B visas dominate for specialty roles like biomedical engineers, regulatory specialists, and clinical data managers. O-1 visas are used for senior scientists and executives with extraordinary ability. L-1 transfers are common for multinational companies relocating employees to Connecticut facilities. TN visas serve Canadian and Mexican professionals in qualifying occupations.
How to find medical devices visa sponsorship jobs in Connecticut?
Use Migrate Mate to search specifically for medical device roles in Connecticut that offer visa sponsorship. Focus on companies with established H-1B filing histories and filter by cities like Danbury, New Haven, and Hartford where major medical device manufacturers have operations. The platform shows which employers actively sponsor visas.
Which Connecticut cities have the most medical device visa sponsorship opportunities?
Danbury leads with Medtronic's major facility and several smaller device manufacturers. New Haven benefits from proximity to Yale and biotech research. Hartford attracts companies serving the broader Northeast corridor. Stamford and Norwalk also host medical device companies due to their proximity to New York markets.
Are prevailing wages higher for medical device roles in Connecticut?
Connecticut's high cost of living, particularly in Fairfield County, drives higher prevailing wages for medical device positions. The state's concentration of specialized manufacturers and proximity to Boston and New York creates competitive compensation. Regulatory and clinical roles often command premium wages due to FDA compliance requirements.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored medical devices jobs in Connecticut?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
