Which investment management companies sponsor H-1B visas in Florida?
Florida-based firms with a record of H-1B visa filings in investment management include Raymond James Financial, headquartered in St. Petersburg, along with regional offices of BlackRock, Fidelity Investments, and Franklin Templeton. Larger custodial and wealth management platforms operating out of Miami and Tampa also appear regularly in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data for investment-related specialty occupation roles.
Which cities in Florida have the most investment management H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads the state for investment management H-1B activity, driven by its concentration of hedge funds, private equity firms, and international asset managers. Tampa and St. Petersburg follow closely, anchored by Raymond James and a cluster of institutional asset managers. Orlando has a smaller but growing presence, primarily through wealth management and financial planning firms serving the region's expanding population.
What types of investment management roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that consistently qualify include portfolio analyst, quantitative analyst, risk analyst, compliance analyst, and financial engineer, as each typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as finance, economics, mathematics, or computer science. General relationship manager or sales-oriented positions are less likely to qualify if the employer cannot demonstrate that a specific degree in a relevant discipline is a standard requirement for the role.
How do I find investment management H-1B sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface investment management roles in Florida where employers have a documented history of H-1B sponsorship. This saves significant time compared to reviewing general job postings, where sponsorship eligibility is rarely stated clearly. Migrate Mate also provides context on employer sponsorship patterns to help you prioritize applications.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in investment management?
Florida has no state income tax, which affects how compensation packages are structured at investment management firms, but it does not change federal H-1B requirements. One relevant consideration is that many Miami-area firms serve international clients and may prefer candidates with foreign language skills or cross-border market experience, which can strengthen a specialty occupation argument. Employers still must meet all standard H-1B prevailing wage and Labor Condition Application requirements regardless of state.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B investment management jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
