Which transportation companies sponsor visas in Florida?
Major sponsors include FedEx Ground, UPS, Amazon Logistics, DHL Express, and CSX Transportation for freight and distribution roles. Aviation companies like Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, and Southwest Airlines sponsor for technical and operations positions at Miami International and Orlando airports. Port operators APM Terminals and PortMiami also sponsor for maritime logistics roles.
How to find transportation visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Use Migrate Mate to search transportation roles filtered specifically for Florida. Focus on logistics hubs in Miami-Dade, Tampa Bay, and Jacksonville where companies actively sponsor H-1B and TN visas for supply chain analysts, operations managers, and logistics coordinators. Check positions at major distribution centers and intermodal facilities throughout the state.
Which visa types are most common for transportation roles in Florida?
H-1B visas are common for supply chain analysts, logistics managers, and transportation planners requiring specialized knowledge. TN visas work well for Canadian and Mexican nationals in management consulting or engineering roles. L-1 visas are frequent for international logistics companies transferring managers to Florida operations, particularly in Miami's international trade sector.
Which cities in Florida have the most transportation sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads with international freight forwarding and port operations at PortMiami and Miami International Airport. Tampa Bay offers logistics and distribution center opportunities, while Jacksonville hosts CSX Transportation headquarters and major automotive shipping facilities. Orlando provides aviation-focused roles at the international airport and theme park logistics operations.
Do Florida transportation jobs require specific industry certifications?
Many roles prefer certifications like APICS Supply Chain Operations Reference or Project Management Professional credentials. Freight forwarding positions often require knowledge of customs regulations and international trade compliance. Some port operations roles need Transportation Worker Identification Credentials, though employers typically sponsor eligible candidates through the application process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored transportation jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
