INTRODUCTION
VCA Greater Savannah Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate and dedicated experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our general practice team.
Working as a veterinary assistant means being part of every patient's care from the moment they walk in to the moment they head home — assisting with exams, prepping patients for procedures, working as a veterinary team during treatments and diagnostics, and helping keep the whole hospital running smoothly.
You'll build hands-on skills across a wide variety of cases, from wellness visits to more involved procedures, working closely alongside veterinarians and technicians every step of the way. It's a role built for variety and growth, where every day brings something new and every patient benefits from the care you help provide.
Compensation: $15.00 - $19.00 / hour dependent on experience, and skill set.
Potential Schedule: Full-time, (4) 10 hr shifts, Saturday rotation required.
VETERINARY ASSISTANT SKILLS
- Monitors hospitalized patients, observing and reporting changes in behavior, comfort, and vital signs to the veterinary team
- Brings a hands-on approach to pharmacy support, treatments, procedures, and diagnostics
- Prepares treatment areas, exam rooms, and surgical suites, maintaining a clean, organized, and sterile environment
- Supports patient husbandry for hospitalized patients — feeding, walking, cage cleaning, bedding changes, and comfort care
- Assists with laboratory procedures and basic diagnostic testing
- Administers medications and helps maintain accurate patient records
- Assists with client communication, education, and coordination around patient intake and discharge
- Communicates clearly with veterinarians, technicians, and the broader care team to keep patients moving smoothly through the day
- Stays calm, adaptable, and efficient across a variety of cases and species
We're looking for someone positive, motivated, and ready to bring ideas to the table — our team meets frequently, and your input genuinely shapes how we grow. We protect our culture fiercely, and that means hiring people with the determination to rise above obstacles, wear multiple hats, and show up for their team.

Which animal care & pet services companies sponsor E-3 visas in Georgia?
Veterinary hospital groups with multi-location practices in the Atlanta metro, along with Zoo Atlanta and the Georgia Aquarium, have histories of sponsoring specialty occupation visas including the E-3 visa. National pet care and veterinary consolidators such as VCA and Banfield, which operate across Georgia, also sponsor qualified international professionals. Checking DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data for Georgia filings gives the clearest picture of which employers have sponsored roles in this industry.
Which cities in Georgia have the most animal care & pet services E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the largest share of E-3-eligible animal care positions in Georgia, driven by its veterinary specialty hospitals, research institutions, and zoological facilities. Athens, home to the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, is a secondary hub for veterinary clinical and research roles. Savannah and Augusta have smaller but active veterinary practice markets where specialty roles occasionally arise.
How do I find animal care & pet services E-3 sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for E-3 visa sponsorship, so you can search animal care and pet services roles in Georgia without manually screening employers. Because the E-3 requires a specialty occupation and a willing employer, focusing on veterinary hospitals, zoological organizations, and large pet care networks in the Atlanta and Athens areas gives the most practical results. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with verified LCA filing history, which signals genuine sponsorship capability.
What types of animal care & pet services roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Georgia?
E-3 sponsorship requires a specialty occupation, meaning the role must normally require at least a relevant bachelor's degree. In animal care and pet services, this typically covers licensed veterinarians, veterinary specialists, veterinary researchers, and zoo or aquarium animal curators. Animal trainer and technician roles may qualify if the position description requires a degree-level qualification in animal science, biology, or a directly related field, which should be confirmed with the employer and verified against O*NET occupation requirements.
Are there any Georgia-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in animal care & pet services?
Georgia requires veterinarians to hold a state license issued by the Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine before practicing, so Australian veterinary graduates need to complete NAVLE licensing steps prior to or alongside the E-3 application process. Georgia has no state-level immigration rules that affect the E-3 itself, but employers in the veterinary sector here commonly use staffing agencies or in-house HR teams familiar with specialty occupation filings, which can affect how quickly an LCA is certified through the OFLC.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 animal care & pet services jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
