Which construction companies sponsor E-3 visas in Georgia?
Atlanta-headquartered firms like Holder Construction and Brasfield & Gorrie have histories of sponsoring skilled visa workers, as do national contractors including Turner Construction and Skanska with significant Georgia operations. Engineering consultancies such as Jacobs and WSP, which support Georgia DOT and MARTA projects, also have established sponsorship programs for specialty occupation roles. Sponsorship decisions vary by project pipeline and role availability.
Which cities in Georgia have the most construction E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the majority of construction E-3 visa opportunities in Georgia, driven by ongoing commercial development, the BeltLine expansion, and major infrastructure programs tied to MARTA and the state DOT. Savannah is a secondary market with growth in industrial and port-adjacent construction following manufacturing investment in the region. Smaller markets like Augusta and Columbus have a more limited pool of E-3-eligible roles.
What types of construction roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it normally requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. In construction, qualifying roles typically include civil engineers, structural engineers, geotechnical engineers, construction project managers with engineering degrees, and quantity surveyors with relevant tertiary qualifications. General site supervision or trade-based roles without a degree requirement generally do not meet the specialty occupation standard.
How do I find construction E-3 sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate lists construction roles in Georgia that are open to E-3 visa sponsorship, filtered specifically for Australian professionals. Rather than sorting through general job boards where visa sponsorship details are often missing or unclear, Migrate Mate focuses on employers willing to sponsor, making it easier to identify construction project management, engineering, and design roles in Atlanta and across Georgia without wasting time on ineligible listings.
Are there any Georgia-specific considerations for E-3 construction sponsorship?
Georgia's construction market is heavily tied to state infrastructure investment and private commercial development in the Atlanta metro, which means sponsorship activity tends to follow project cycles. Australian professionals should be aware that Georgia does not require state occupational licensing for construction project managers, but civil and structural engineers working in a licensed capacity must hold or obtain a Georgia Professional Engineer license, which is a separate process from the E-3 visa application itself.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 construction jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
